SAAC Forum Discussion Area / Re: SAAC is not living up to it's purpose
« on: March 29, 2020, 12:55:08 PM »
Hi-one thing you must be clear on is fact that no one  has any obligation or gets remuneration to spend their free time answering my question or anyone else's, which @ time might be strange or at least so perceived. I do agree there could be some uncold for derogatory remarks , and as of any walks of life you will always encounter some nice and some not so nice people. However be assured that at SAAC if you only allow some time and patients you will meet a lot of extraordinary , dedicated, friendliest , in short just awesome characters. I can give number of instances when my wife commented "HOW DO THOSE PEOPLE FIND PATIENCE " trying to help all of us thinking that getting answers is our right not privilege. In nut shell my car would still be in pieces or incorrectly assembled if it was not for help from likes of BOBS-ROBERTS-EDS--CHRISTS---[ and list goes on and on]  guys that help is endless.               GOOD LUCK , have patients and very soon you will have array of very good , proud to be associated with FRIENDS.                                           John Zajc

Concours Talk / Re: 69 Shelby Door
« on: March 03, 2020, 09:04:25 PM »
Call me on thursday [604 315 O328] I hope the door is not bondo special, if it is in good shape you can absolutely have it. What I said about shiny cars, unfortunately when we are dealing with our kids , reality sits in, they care more how nice it looks, how sexy it is, it just has to be cool in their own terms. For special rare cars there is always going to be demand from collectors and history buffs---I am taking every possible step to have my cars as original as humanly possible , but you know yourself know how is another issue. CHEERS

SAAC Forum Discussion Area / Pay for service
« on: March 03, 2020, 03:14:30 PM »
Perhaps rather than hope that somebody will reply, would it work to have pay for service sort of programs. Of Course keep things as they are just ad section where you would request assistance and get charged for time. Money could be used for rumaniration and or help SAAC, maybe some charities --I know personally at times I am emeresed to ask another question, but would have no problem with pay system  ??????

If you still have problem getting the door, give me call on Thursday---my shop is getting another car tomorrow and if door is in good condition you can have it. I will make sure that Shelby projects have first crack at it--FYI ---we actually taped people at car show last year --in row---1965-66-67-68-69--70--ironically 70 had the most attention and young teenagers by the time they got down to 67 they had enough and moved on--they could care less originality , just how cool it is---and those are new owners, they just care how cool cars are and not how original---good luck

« on: March 02, 2020, 01:37:51 AM »
Thank you---IMO most correct course of action for me is to mask off engine block , repaint oil pan with bolts and plug together and generous overspray on bare area--thanks again

« on: March 01, 2020, 06:54:21 PM »
Thank you---to get it done even remotely correct I will remove oil pan, strip the paint reinstall , mask the engine and paint it again-- sad part is that I paid to get it work done and know I am redoing it , fortunately I got lot of help from members- THANK YOU ALL                                                                                                                                                                                     P.S.-if I can give just one advice to next person just starting same endeavour;                                                                                                 Do not ever buy cheap bargain price parts from unknown source, they are to expensive--spend more money and parts from more expensive places, like Meyer parts, Perkings , Bob Gains etc.---- in general guys from SAAC community, you will pay more initially but save money evetually because parts are correct and work--john
