What i dont understand on the gold  auto 68 gt350 is even thou mecums description wasnt even close saying it was an original  unrestored car they had the value at 70-80K of which was high from what i seen then it ends up selling for 220 all in and thats ALOT of $ for a car that dont even have a buck tag !!  The shelby signed dash paid off on this one!

Yep buyers need to see the details  as these took along time to make concours correctly .  Does anybody know the real story behind the early version shepards cross with the loop and star as years ago i got a call from a lawyer working on a lawsuit about this and he wanted to buy some autolite stuff so i sold him my extra autolite sales binder that had all the autolite sales products with photos but i never heard how the lawsuit was settled as he said it had something to do with  the first type autolite shepards cross loop and star rights and that era of autolite marked stuff didnt last long as the loop and star disapeared but still showed up on the fa 50 - 68 and up filter but its not on the fa41- 67 and up filter.

Chris u forgot to put photos of the shepards cross type autolite  and c8af #s of the fa50 on your website so buyer can see all the details like u showed on the fa41 detailed photos.

The fa 50 and fa 41 fits many other non performance 67 68 and up ford cars and trucks also including t-birds .  What about the PANTERA air filter anybody know? as they are highly collectable last few years also.

Tim  & pete do u think the kr filter change had anything to do with airflow as the taller fa50 sits up higher and since the kr foam ram air seal was glued to the INSIDE of the 16" 1/4'' wide base it was a small gap area between the foam seal and the filter for air flow but by using the shorter fa 41 the filter sat down lower and didnt that change the gap between the filter top and the foam seal.  Has anybody ever measured the gap between the 2 filters on a kr air cleaner base with the rubber seal glued in place? The 69 gt350 air cleaner base is a c8a # on build sheet and thats a non performance air cleaner base being 17'' wide and those bases used a fa50 i always thought and the decal was c8af-c   fa-50

Fa 50 was also used on 69 gt350 boss 351 71 429cj scj mustang as well as many other cars and the filters chris made were of my assembly line wire type mesh NOT the service replacement round hole type mesh.  fa41 was 67 and up mostly big block  and performance cars 390 gt 428 cj scj boss 302 -429 etc. This is a much needed concours part and the assembly line type were never serviced and nos autolite filters are rare and expensive and have dried up.  The fa50 and fa41 airfilter is a highly visable part on KRs  69-70 shelbys boss 429s boss 351s 71 429 cj scj mustangs  cars that have an open element ram air assembly where u ca see the filter inside the air cleaner base when u open the hood.  Also wouldnt the c7sf  fa 41 be correct  for 67 gt350s.

430 your info sounds correct   doug i just looked and i have 10 assembly line c70e -a FOMOMCO dipsticks left here as i been collecting them last 40 years when i seen ford service replacements had the dimple on the chrome handle (that u can easy see) and the repo was copied from the ford service replacement until now i see drake made a copy but not the 67-68 version so if u want the real macoy i got some left that i rechromed and some that are original show quality chrome .

I talked to the guys who had the first  run of  repo cj heat shields today and they said the first ones were crudely made because they tried to stamp them out using a 1 hit metal stamp tooling . Then they changed tooling metal stamps to a 2 step stamp and they were much better after that. Easy way to tell the first repo cj heat shields is the black front bracket has no ribs stamped on the corner bends and i dont think they had the small screw hole on top of elbow notch to align the s-tube and on some cars i was told the elbow was hitting the shock tower and had to be bent towards the engine after being  installed . The improved second run heat shields and brackets were much better and the reason why we dont see these older first repo run heat shields around is they were installed back 25-30 years ago. I have changed out the repo heat shields on concours cj cars in the past and install originals and its not an easy or a fun job to do with the engine still in the car.
