Thanks Pete, I knew the cars went to Northwestern. Just thought this might have been a promotional at Gotham with Playboy Bunnies. By the way, that is a GREAT vintage picture.

Pete,

When I first say the Playboy logo on her blouse, I immediately thought of the 10 Playboy convertibles. There was only one that was white with saddle interior and that was #2476 a GT-500. Is it possible that this was that car?

Thanks for getting the word out. I received the same scam message. Knew immediately that it wasn't from the member whose name was used. Keep up the good work fellows!

Rick,

Been there and done that. 5 way bypass in December 2008 and still hanging in there today at 73 years. I hope that your surgical team will be as good as the one that I had. Also, a special thank you to Stanford Medical Center for a second opinion regarding a need for follow up surgery that was not necessary. I am sending our prayers and best wishes for a full and speedy recovery to you. You will do fine.

JD - No problem, the number that I have is 653. I think you just transposed the numbers.

Hope this helps.

JD - I just had a chance to check my spreadsheet to verify my numbers against yours. I believe your April number is a typo. We agree on every other month listed. Glad others are tracking this information so that we can share data. I appreciate all your input on these issues.

Thanks,

Dennis

Randy, mine was also California car (Los Angeles) and was not painted. It could have been a Hertz thing like the tape on the radiator perhaps.

I don't believe that all Hertz cars mirrors were painted red. I am not sure if it has been determined the reason why some were red and others not. Maybe someone can clarify.

The follow numbers are the ones that I believe could be a possibility:

GT350 0007, 0080, 0091, 0144, 1399, 1646

GT500 0245, 0264, 0280, 0283, 0328, 1010, 1011, 1614

If someone has other information, please let me know. This was from a quick review of my files.

El Paso Auto Center received 29 cars in 1967. Of those 11 were shipped in June and July. Since the article appears in a June issued magazine, the pictures were probably taken no later that May. That would be a total of 18 cars to be considered as being in the picture. Of the 18 remaining cars 4 were automatic leaving 14 that could be the one in the picture. Of those there were 6 GT350 and 8 GT500 possible as being the car. Sorry that is as close as I can get without more information.

I know it is a long shot, but does anyone on these forums have a good picture of the Willow Springs corner markers shown in the track footage?

I have been searching for a picture that will show the detail of what was on the signs. If anyone can help me find a picture, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Dennis
