SM stands for Stant manufacture (Connersville Indiana). My home town. I have see SM STAMPED on caps up until 68 (Mustang). Cast into pop open ones (69-73). I have had a lot of caps that made it thru quality control that didnt have SM stamped on them even has screws instead drive rivits.

First off I have to say I met Ed in the 70's. From that point on Ed has been a inspiration to me. Not only  HONEST,helpful and a straight shooter. His knowledge on these cars we all love is second to none.He deserves all the recognition he gets and more.I congratulate him on the article.    The movie company approached me about purchacing mine.I refused because they said it was going to be a "crashum up bangum up"remake of gone in 60 seconds. Had I know it was to be used in last seen I would have rented it to them as they sugested. All that aside I was upside down in the car at $1000. HA HA

Very interested in Daves post #1265. (Blue 66 Shelby setting next to dealership.) If it is Johnnie bolten Ford dealership in Maitland Florida my blue 6S2201 shelby came from this dealership. Is it just me or does it look like lemans stripes on car? Registery states painted magnums but I purchaced car with ten spokes on car.  Any info would be appreciated. Randy
