I noticed recently that Mr. Perkins had listed, on ebay, a 1968 Press Information Kit.  I have never seen one before and was interested for some input as to what the value of such an item might be?  I prefer not to hear .......what ever the buyer is willing to pay.  To be more specific when these have sold in the past what have they sold for?

Up For Auction / Re: Three Shelbys Up For Auction
« on: February 23, 2023, 06:27:42 AM »
       I don't know if this is the same car but......... about thirteen years ago I met two gentlemen , in Ohio, while hunting for parts for my 68 Shelby.  Don Pollack sold me an automatic shifter handle for my car .  I told him I had met a gent named Tom Thompson, who had a garage filled with Shelbys.  There was one that caught my eye.  It was Brittany Blue. It had low mileage.
       Don told me he sold that Brittany blue car to Tom Thompson.  It had been stolen and the motor taken.  The car had a non original motor, according to Don.  I don't know what other items had been vandalized when the car was stolen but it was sure a pretty car.  I remember it because I wrote notes for future reference , on that day in April, 2010.

      There were a lot of similarities to this car being auctioned.  I don't know that they are one in the same........ maybe its just coincidental

   I bought my first car in 71.  It was a 65 mgb.  The poor thing was devestated by harsh northern winters and did not last another five years before being consumed by rust.....may she rest in peace

SAAC Forum Discussion Area / Re: Mice Advice, Please
« on: August 31, 2020, 03:33:44 PM »
I gave up years ago trying home remedies.  I live out in the county and the mice run rampant. ( In the city they have rats.)  I put all my cars in bubbles.  I haven't had a problem with mice since I started using bubbles. My wife has  a 97' Z3.  Ever since the mice got in the trunk, nested and ate the wiring , I surrendered. The repairs were very costly.  Thank the lord it was not my Shelby. Car bubbles have been my answer to the mice problem.

Concours Talk / Re: glass etching stencils
« on: April 24, 2020, 08:30:04 AM »
Tim;

    I have a gold concours 1956 Austin Healey.  Original windshields are nonexistent.  A gentleman named Richard Gordon had glass etching decals made to be etched onto the glass of the windshield to make them look authentic.  He has a whole process to etch the decal on to the glass.  If done properly it is undetectable. The company who made the decals was Rayzist.  They are in California.

to keep this in perspective...… so far less that 100 people, in the USA,  have died from this new strain of corona virus.  In 2017 the CDC reported that there were over 80,000 deaths related to the flu virus in the USA.       Be smart.....avoid large crowds.... and wash your hands frequently.  We struggle to understand viruses and unlike bacteria which can be combated with antibiotics  viruses can be much more difficult to treat.  The sample size we have at this point is too small to be statistically significant but we need to be smart to keep this from becoming an epidemic like it is in Italy.  If you start to feel something coming on STAY HOME and contact your local CDC for instructions.  The goal is to minimize the spread of the virus.  Those that are at the greatest risk are infants, elderly, and immunocompromised people.  You don't have to quarantine yourself but don't be stupid either.

1968 Shelby GT350/500/500KR / Re: GT500KR unrestored

the console gauges are incorrect.  it's hard to tell from the second picture but the center console, between the front seats, may have been changed , too.   Tim Lea restores old console gauges and would be a good source to start.
