The above thread about the Reventlow Cobra caused me to remember crewing for a race at the Louisville Fairgrounds where Augie Pabst was driving one of the Scarabs, The Meister Brauser Special. For you folks old enough to remember him, the Chief Starter was Jesse Coleman. I found this on the internet:

Up For Auction / 1965-1966 Trunk Mat
July 18, 2021, 07:52:38 PM
Just saw this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/203528519643?hash=item2f633ebfdb:g:TdsAAOSwdm1g80qs
Looks legit.  Don't know the seller.  Seems like a reasonable price for a hard-to-find item.  I have two NOS and wouldn't sell mine for that!

July 15, 2021, 05:33:49 PM
Just found this link to a few pages of the famous (and sorely missed) MG MITTEN catalog. http://www.onthedash.com/document/1966-mg-mitten-catalog/.  Check out p. 14:  IMPACT seat belts for $16.95 a set!

Cleaning out the poster inventory:
Two factory-issued Ford GT posters (24x36 with Red on one side, White on the other). Excellent condition with no creases or pin holes.  Suggestion: Frame one on one side, frame the other on the other side.  $50 for both shipped in a heavy 4-inch diameter cardboard mailing tube via USPS Media Mail to any CONUS address.

Rare, two-poster showroom dealer set featuring the 1993 Mustang Cobra. Were probably meant to be mounted back-to-back. Printed on heavy stock and cannot roll. Each are 14"x29". Will ship flat between heavy cardboard via USPS Media Mail to any CONUS address. $50 for the set.

Send me a PM for payment instructions and your shipping address.

Concours Talk / KONI Instructions Brochure

For some reason, Vern's ad here: http://www.saacforum.com/index.php?topic=3969.msg34675#msg34675  doesn't show his pictures on my computer anymore.  Vern, do you still have those pics on file?  If so, would you be so kind as to post them again for us and give us a dissertation on the versions that were used by KONI.  Anyone else with original examples, please feel free to elaborate. TIA!

Recent postings of early '65's for sale show undersides of the hoods painted what appears to be satin/semi-gloss black.  Searching my "archives" of books, articles, etc. show them mostly white.  Is there any credibility to the black undersides for the porthole hoods?

For those who want a reliable battery solution but not so much concerned about originality, here's one for the front battery mount trays in '65-'66 GT350's:  Use an AGM H5/Group 47 that has the side mounting "ears" like our old Group 24F's used to have.  The H5 will fit the tray but is shorter in length, just short enough to change the position of the mounting bolt in the tray to the Group 22F position.  Obtain a Group 22 mounting bracket and you're in business.  The + and - posts are in the correct locations and most H5 batteries will have at least 600 CCA or more.

Just got it in the mail and the logo is "warped".  I thought our logo was supposed to be round but apparently whoever produced them decided to make this one egg-shaped.  Anyone else get one like mine?  Not at all pleased.

Always wondered about this:  The driver's side tailpipe is parallel and very close to the side of the gas tank, much more so than the passenger's side.  On a long drive and especially in Summertime, you would think that this could lead to a dangerous increase in gasoline temperature and the potential for cavitation/vapor lock.  Opinions from our learned members on the Forum?

My wife gave me a great book for Christmas! "Carroll Shelby A Collection of my Favorite Racing Photos" by Art Evans with Carroll Shelby. This is a biography in pictures of Shelby's life racing along with his commentaries about the photos.  It's a great insight into his life...and what a life it was! Steve McQueen may have been known as "The King of Cool" but 'ol CS was certainly "royalty" in the same court! www.cartechbooks.com
