It's been months since the release of the new 1966 Registry and not a peep from HQ about plans to correct this mistake.   I've suggested that the corrected page be posted so that each recipient can print out and insert their own copy...a speedy and cost effective solution...but, much to my chagrin, I've heard nothing.  What's the plan? Hello?!

We took 1467 to a local Cars & Coffee this past week-end and, on the way back home, a few lifters seemed a little too noisy so I decided to check/adjust the valve lash. Fortunate that I did!  Found a couple of nuts that were loose, probably from old age.  I had some spare nuts and had been meaning to install lock-nuts anyway, so this was a good time to do it all.  For some stupid reason, I had never marked the damper at 90 deg. intervals to make adjustments easy with only two complete revolutions of the damper. Because it's hard to access, I came up with a way to do it and thought I'd share it.  With a spare damper, I measured the diameter as 6-15/32" or 6.468" X 3.1416 makes the circumference 20.323". Divide by 4=5.08".  Take some blue painter's tape or masking tape and measure out a length of 20.323 as close as you can. 20-5/16" is close.  Mark the 5.08" (5-1/16" is close) intervals to show 4 equal parts.  Start one end of your tape on the installed damper at TDC and slowly turn it as you carefully apply the tape.  You should end up back at TDC. Then transfer your marks on the tape to the damper by scribing or paint daubs.

I posed this question over on the Concours Forum and thought I'd pose it here to see if anyone has a trick they care to share:

With the original style disc brake reservoir, does anyone have a trick to minimize loss of fluid while replacing brake hoses?  As I recall with the later dual circuit MC, you can depress the brake pedal down about 1/3 of the way down and it will inhibit brake fluid loss.  I don't thing that will work on the early version MC....or will it?

Last time I was in Home Depot, I was walking by the batteries and noticed that the EXIDE 24F no longer had the lower mounting flanges on the short sides.  If that's the "case" (pun intended), I know of no other battery manufacturer left with the correct flanges.  Can anyone with a tie to EXIDE confirm this? Is there another manufacturer with the flanges?  If not, what could be done to secure a battery with no flanges using the OEM tray and bracket?

Beautiful little slab-side. What happened?  Something wrong with the car?  No market for the Continuation Cars?

SOLD I'm going down to 195/70x14 and will be taking off a set of 5 very desirable BF Goodrich COMP T/A HR4 205/70x14 Blackwalls-no raised white letters...not to be confused with BFG Radial T/A's. These tires are just shy of brand new (in fact, the spare has never been on the ground) but have been on the car for many years, stored in a temp/humidity-controlled garage on carpet, treated with AEROSPACE 404 many times, absolutely no dry rot or blemishes.  Rolled on dry pavement into and out of an enclosed trailer.  Offering all 5 for $200 OBO plus shipping on carrier of your choice or FOB Winston-Salem. Note: Should there be any damage to any bead when removed, I will gladly refund or pro-rate, your choice.

With the advent of improved equipment for dismounting old tires and mounting new ones, risk of damage to the wheels has lessened but I'm still paranoid when it comes to minimizing any possibility of damage during these operations and during balancing.  Anyone with experience in this regard? Any special precautions to take with the 10-spokes?  TIA!

Back in Forum 1.0, I seem to recall a thread about the correct or accepted mounting hardware for the C4ZB grille pony on a '65. Would appreciate previous contributor/s to re-submit.  I believe the replacement C8 pony had slightly larger diameter pins vs. the rather slender ones on the C4.

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / Axle-Limiting Cables
January 12, 2019, 08:37:02 AM
Brant's recent blog for 6S933 shows that this car received axle-limiting cables.  A quick check of the Registry shows no discussion of this topic as to when it was phased out.  Any definitive information on this?

Just saw Lauren on Fox and Friends this a.m. introducing 2019 vehicles (but, Lauren, no Shelbys?). She knows her stuff and is a helluva driver, too.
