Wanted to Buy / Steering box tag
« on: September 08, 2018, 02:34:42 PM »
Forum members,
What would be a proper date for a steering box tag ( i believe it’s an HCC AX tag)
And, does anyone have one for sale or know where to get one? I checked MARTI’s website, but didn’t see one. It’s for a later gt350 built April 66.

Thanks,

Dave

Can someone help with an engine tag data?  I tried to order a tag for my car from Marti - but since the 66 Shelby's don't have the door tag....  so I need to tell them the information on the tag  -The car was built in SJ in April of '66, SFM 6s2052 is the Shelby number...?  Appreciate in advance any help on this -

hey Randy -

Not sure on the rings - his notes were that he used "JE Pistons, Moly" for the rings, and...  JE Pistons 4.010 bore for the Pistons...

So - NOT all NOS parts internally...

No mods - stock heads and cam.  I believe that the motor was bored .010 over. (it was standard bore when started).  TOE performance built the motor -

239 has:

Left hinge 6 11 2D
Right hinge 6 18 2D ( the D is not 100 percent legible as part is under the bolt head)
Trunk is tough to make out, but looks like 6 23 2C ( the C could be a 0, and the 6 is not really legible)
