Parts For Sale / C4OE SBF Intake Manifold

NOT MINE. I have no connection with this. I just saw it on Corral.Net and thought someone here might be interested since it's a pretty early date. Hard to see but looks like "3j11"?

The Lounge / Another Junkyard Shelby
October 19, 2023, 02:50:20 AM
So yesterday I was browsing the website of local Pick-Your-Part wrecking yards, and I noticed this little beauty. It was put out into the yard yesterday and was already pretty much stripped of anything interesting.

My curiosity was peaked as to whether it was "real" so I decided to go check it out today. It was worse in person. If the pictures show how it looked after being ravaged by a pack of hyenas, today it looked like the leftover carcass after being scavenged by a hundred hungry buzzards. Outside of the export brace, brake booster, master cylinder, some wiring and various bolts, there is NOTHING useful left on it.

The good news (depending on how you look at it) is that it appears to be  a "real" Shelby. I took the Shelby VIN plate (sticker) from the driver side fender apron. I also got the ford VIN from the door sticker.

Appeals / Smog Tube Repair
June 22, 2022, 12:53:18 AM
Does anyone repair / restore smog tubes? I have these tubes that came off a 67 Fairlane 390. You can see by the pics that someone cut these off apparently with a hacksaw in order to pull the heads off the motor in the car. Thanks for any leads.

I have this Nodular third member to sell. It has a"7F2" casting date, 3.50 gears and a 31 spline open carrier. It has an incorrect yoke on it, but it appears to have been run that way for some time and still in good shape. I struggled to determine a value on it so since it falls in the vicinity of "Spec Case" and "68 GT500" dates, I'll start there. $1200 plus shipping.

I also have the matching 31 spline axles for this. They fit 67-70, but I guess are "correct" for 68-70. One has a visible "C8OW" casting. The other is not clear at all. They both appear to be in very good shape, but both will need to have the collars behind the bearings replaced. One is missing altogether and the other looks like it was used in a housing with a 28 spline axle seal. $450 plus shipping. See pics.

SAAC Forum Discussion Area / 289 Cam ID
May 28, 2020, 04:23:29 AM
Just wondering if anyone can help ID this cam. It came out of the HiPo 289 I'm parting out.  From what I've been able to find, the HiPo solid lifter cams were marked "VE" (actually an upside down "A" instead of "V" but can't type upside down here). The 260 hydraulic lifter cams were marked "UA." This cam is marked "XUA" but does have the orange paint behind the distributor gear like the HiPo cam. The engine did have solid lifters. Any ideas?

Parts For Sale / 1964 HiPo Shortblock
November 19, 2018, 02:37:00 AM
I have for sale a "C4OE" 5-bolt 289 HiPo block w/ "3L21" casting date, that is currently +.030. Includes crank and non-HiPo rods. Assembly also includes "C5" HiPo balancer, timing cover for aluminum water pump and manual flywheel. The block has no VIN on it but has the Ford sequence number (3179) and assembly date (3M4) stamped on it. Altogether these numbers should make it correct for many 1964 models including Fairlane, Comet or Shelby Cobra. Looking for $2000 for this. Would prefer local pickup on this. Shipping would be difficult for me since I don't have a truck right now but may be able to work it out. Located in Cerritos, CA.

Hi All,
New member here. I've been reading this Forum for years but never registered since I don't own a Shelby. I've tried to get help with this on other Forums that I'm a member of but have had little success. Here's the deal. I recently acquired a 289 HiPo motor of miss-matched date codes. The block is a "C40E-6015-C (5-bolt) with a "3L21" date code. I think it's too early for a 65' Mustang. I suppose it could be okay for a 64' Fairlane. I can't see a VIN on it in the usual spot for a Mustang. I don't know if Fairlanes got the same treatment. I haven't found any info on them. Somewhere on this Forum I read that the blocks for the 289 Cobras were marked differently. I can't find the thread now, but it stated that the Cobras had the VIN or some other identifying marks stamped on the left side of the block. I don't remember if the markings are supposed on or near the rear of the block. I also don't remember what the markings are supposed to look like. The only things I van find are a group of four numbers stamped onto a smooth pad just below the deck near the left rear of the block. Is this what I'm supposed to be looking for? Anyone have a pic of what I should be looking for? Any help is appreciated.
