1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Re: 1967 GT500 Oil Filter Adapter Question
« on: March 27, 2024, 01:34:07 AM »
Yes that was my guess also, but the range is interesting because they also changed the logos from Sheffield to fomoco in oval the later the numbers are. So they changed the molds over the years and the numbers.

Ok I need to check that the most I have, don't have a date stamped. Did they really stamped them all? The one on my GT500 maybe has one from what I remember.

so they are all correct? I thought that in 67 they only had a fomoco logo in the oval. Do you maybe have an idea why some have he Sheffield and others the FoMoCo Logo? I think this adapter was used from the beginning of the FE until late 67. I have seen several different ones but I thought there is maybe something like a guide which ones were produced when.

Who can give me some more infos on this one? I know they are rare and for 429 SCJ and Nascar but never had time to do more research on this one. I have it here since 15 years now.

Yes that's a usual thing I see often and it don't make sense to mount fiberglass like this.

I always did it the right way and thought its wrong and was not done like this by the factory but I thought its better for the fiberglass and years later I found a concours restored one at a saac meet and found out my thinking and doing was right as they mounted it the same way like I did all the years.

By the way I need one of these top panels does someone here has one for sale?

Hello I´m looking for some helpful pictures of the correct front end installation for a 68 Shelby GT350. Including which brackets were welded and which were just with screws. Maybe someone has pictures here from a restoration. My body guy and painter has a GT350 and he calls me 100 times and it's hard to explain every detail. I was looking for pictures over google but the most are not very correct or just clones. Thanks for the help.
