1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / Glove box sticker
August 30, 2020, 11:15:44 PM
I thought I might replace the old worn out Shelby sticker in my glove box (pic 1). Ordered a new one from NPD (pic 2). Its clearly longer with extra words about sustained high speeds and towing. I suspect the differences are the E-70 vs F-70 tire changeover - my car is #0170 originally with E-70s. Yes?

I guess I'm keeping the original sticker?

Thanks, Doug

I read the original post as "new with 65k miles" not 65 KM as stated. Whoa. Spent some time behind a GT350R on the track in my 07 GT500. Not a lot of time ...  :o
10 years makes for a whole different breed.

That wiring diagram doesnt apply to 69. You basically are removing the regular 69 Mustang feed (14290) that normally mounts to the starter solenoid and mounting it to the terminal block. And then using the Shelby specific harness (14290 AUX) - ie the Shelby wire feed as you call it - thick Black wire mounts to the starter solenoid, then the G/B return mounts to the terminal block.

You are now running all the current through the ammeter before distributing it to the rest of the car.

The Lounge / Explorinv retirement locations
December 31, 2019, 11:49:16 AM
Driving back from SW Florida to home in NE next week. We're beginning to scout out retirement locales in the Carolinas/Georgia area and looking to do some exploring next week on the trip home. My wife expressed a desire for an over 55 community and/or easy access to golf.
Do these communities have 3 car garages to keep the Shelbys close by?
Any recommendations on location?

Don't worry, we are NOT east coast liberals headed to the sunbelt, rather GOP'ers lost in the land of Taxachusetts.

Thanks Doug

Got mine in Mass today - perfect beach reading over the holiday break.

Adrian,

I replaced the original broken door pull on the drivers side with a Scott Drake repro earlier this year. It matches the passenger side in terms of color and quality and has held up well since. Admittedly, I've been closing the door rather gingerly since....

Went to the 3:30pm IMAX show this afternoon. Wow. This really was a tribute to Ken Miles and well deserved. IMAX is a must - the sounds and rumbling vibrations, especially the last 40 minutes at Lemans, are visceral. If only they pumped in the smells of burnt fuel and rubber. I originally didn't like the choice of Damon as Shelby, but he played him well. Bales was fantastic as Miles.

Definitely Mustangs Unlimited in CT. I recognize that heap having been to a few Sunday Show of Shelbys events over the past few years.

Thanks Ed, Jeff and Bob. I'm interested in the screws for both ends. Glad to hear they are the same and the comparison to the tail panel is very helpful.

Sorry Ed. Fastback, 4 speed non A/C car. I usually try to add this as I know it matters.

I'm replacing the side scoop ducting hoses in my GT350. What size screws were used ( AMK #)? Are they the same for both ends? I can find the ducting hoses in the MPC but not the attaching hardware.

Pictures are an added bonus.

Thanks, Doug

Took my 69 GT350 out for a photo op today. Sunset and leaves turning were perfect. My professional photographer, aka wife, captured this beauty shot.  I love the symmetry of colors between the side stripe and trees.

4-spd, non AC car.
