This is where I also think dealing with a person one on one will pay off better than a auction house. Cash has not been outlawed yet, or has it?

My own 2 cents as they seem to think and say.

Sort of like selling on ebay. EBAY assumes that everything you sell is 100% profit, thus, YOU PAY!!! LOL What a nightmare!

I have a friend who also has about 7 Shelbys, all of which are not in the registries. He does not care to report them, they are all legit and have proper numbers. He enjoys the privacy. He knows what they are and anyone seeing them would know also. He will not allow any "number collectors" or any of that.

Very cool...I would love to find some cars like that. I know first hand that sometimes people actually do get them finished. For me, my Boss 302 was one like that, Even relatives would look at me funny when I would say that. After 5 shops, and much lost money and parts, it got done. There are many issues why cars may not get done. "Bums that work on cars", "Restoration shops" that stick their noses up in the air, knowing that they have people over a barrel and would be shops that are lazy and like the easy money of collision.

Isn't it funny how the "newzzz" is making a good guy/bad guy story? When Ukraine is not the nicest country, with Russia, and Communist China? The bottom line is most of one side of everything is blocked by Google, youtube, twit-er, etc.
I bet some still think Trump was involved with Russia. LOL What to think or believe these days?
Just a "critical thinker"

Up For Auction / Re: 1969 Boss 429 project (not mine)

I was thinking the same thing, 168K plus easy 100K plus (whats missing? 40K?) 308K....If I gave it to my guy up in NY, I know it would be correct, right, and nicely restored. But 308K?

GAA B9 went for 300K, plus fees, shipping, etc.? I might pick the one that needs restoring due to KNOWING THE QUALITY.

Just makes my point even more....I do not trust auction houses. Between shady deals and misrepresentation of the car, they do not make sense.

With that said, I would buy one for the BK price all day at 195K if 100 % Complete!

Found this "Quote" on Barn Finds today....LOL
"Carol Shelby once said that out of 10,000 Shelby Mustangs produced, only 17,000 remain (numbers quoted aren't exact). To my mind, recreating the car of your dreams if you can't afford the original is fine as long as you don't try to pass it off as one. However, I'd rather have a well tuned and set up 67/68 convert than a Shelby if only because I'd be afraid to drive the Shelby on the street."
Hmmmmmmm

It surprises me that people will actually buy a car this way...I know auctions have been around for many years, I just would rather deal with the person who owns the car. And not have to pay additional fees/commissions/and other money grabs.

I do not feel good about rumored "games"

The amount I pay for a car should be between the 5 people: The seller, me, myself, and I (the buyer), and the DMV (where I would go to title the car)

My own 2cents....

Why are you concerned with how people spend their money?  Everything does not have to make business sense.  If you're the high bidder at auction, pay and take your car home.  No need to go through the whole car buying 'dance'.

I sold my car at B-J Scottsdale this past January, there were no games, had a great experience.

So that commission chunk out of your hard work restoring, maintaining, and enjoying "your" car did not bother you? That's cool! America is great, we still are entitled to our own opinion. I think we can here also. I am not calling for people that do not agree with me to go back under their rock. I am sure some here think JB is doing a great job too, that is their opinion, (not mine). Hey, if you want to pay retail+ on a new car, go ahead and do it. If I want to buy a new car at invoice, that's me...Its how I have always rolled, please deal with my opinion. I like to give my money to places that need it, like a Animal Shelter, to to "Hollywood Auctioneers."
