The Lounge / March ‘65 issue SCG pullout
March 25, 2024, 04:06:36 PM
Does anyone know anything about this pullout that's in the March '65 issue of SCG?
Seems most of that issue are missing this.

I have three pieces of Carroll Shelby Limited Edition Luggage that I won from the Carroll Shelby Foundation after a yearly donation that I give. I had these on here a while back but recently fetched the third piece from my granddaughter. I've had these for about six years and haven't used them but a handful of times. I don't travel much at all now and would like to find a home for this CS luggage. As you can see from the photos that all three pieces are in excellent condition. CS logos on the silver inserts as well as CS sewn in signature, small mag wheels are neat.
If someone is interested I can give more details and photos. I will post about a dozen photos but feel free to ask any questions or if you want more specific photos, let me know.
I'm asking $500 for the set OBO plus buyer pays shipping.
Thanks for looking

'65-'66 Shelby 350 and '641/2-'65 Mustang abrupt bend 4-speed shifter handle and 4-speed shifter mechanism. New shifter handle kit installed.

From my observations, these "abrupt" bend shifter handles were installed in the early 65 Shelbys for sure, but no known cutoff for the carry-overs into the '66 model year.
I'm sure this shifter can be used in any of the '65-'66 Shelbys/Mustangs.

Hard-to-find shifter handle with the abrupt bend over the more "curved bend".

Complete shifter and handle.
$275 OBO.
PM if interested and more photos.

SAAC Forum Discussion Area / Starter Bad?
June 06, 2021, 01:23:53 PM
I had a mishap Friday leaving doctor appt. I came back out and started the engine, no problem for a second, then screetching noise w/engine running, I turned engine off quickly. Went back to start engine, starter bendix/gear just zinged with no engagement into flywheel, done again, same thing. Finally started and got the car home.

I removed starter today and done the power test and the bendix barely moved out. About .120" (1/8" see photo, calipers and red line). Shouldn't the starter bendix be fully extending up to top of cone? (at yellow line)?

Also, I'm probably going to replace the solenoid and I have thought about the starter switch also. Seems for just an INSTANT the starter key switch may have caused this because of the looseness.

Any thoughts?

And as always, Any help is deeply appreciated,
Rich

Can someone post a clearer photo of their fold down seat latch/pull mechanism like the one in photo?
Maybe even a couple different angles?
Thanks in advance.

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Magstar spare
May 17, 2021, 04:49:46 PM
Was the Magstar spare covered with trunk material type covering? I'm assuming not.

Just curious since I'm working on a 67 model.
Thanks for any help,
Rich

The Lounge / Daytona Cobra Coupe "The Napkin Sketches"
February 17, 2021, 02:24:11 PM
Seen this on Pete Brock Facebook a few years ago and downloaded it.  Was going through all my downloaded photos and seen this again.

I remember reading about this and he explains "There have been many urban legends surrounding these two little drawings, but this is their simple story".

Being an Artist myself, I Love these sketches and how he explains how they come about, Awesome!!
