Whats that box beside the added oil cooler in grill area lh front ?
Funny in that the prior owner can post a dozen times a day on nothing but cannot come on this topic and just answer some questions like yours.
He did answer with this  ::)            https://www.saacforum.com/index.php?PHPSESSID=b54nv46k60thkhd2ev03gm3ou1&topic=25751.msg190723#msg190723
MODIFIED Jan 23-yesterday. HMM, couldn't do this for the last 14 months? Thanks for bringing that to light but he still hasn't said what led to the fire which another poster asked. Only modified and added to his original post after it became another topic right here. I guess the question is why is that?  So to be clear Mr Tech he didn't answer the questions asked here and the one by Ed I quoted.

I never met Sarah but she was involved locally with the local Mustang club here in Detroit I believe  when she met Gary. I believe she married him and moved to Vegas?  She and Gary are back for Mustang events from time to time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-IZ_2CjSx0

The Florida salvage title lists it as "rebuildable". I don't think its a big deal considering its documented now.

The vendors retail value is laughable. I wonder what their reserve is?
My thought is what did the owner have insurance wise? Did he under insure it? Many do. I harp on my friend who has his 71 HEMI Cuda under insured until this week(bringing it to a car show). But my friend has about 17 collector cars and a bunch are 6 figure cars. So say it was under insured at 80K. The insurance company says 75K to fix. Total it out and pay the insured. If this car was insured for 150-200K it wouldn't have been totaled out. Maybe the prior owner would want to chime in? Or maybe too embarrassed to admit it if he did. All I know is this car at what it could have been insured for it should be in all cases be fixed-unless it was under insured and running their numbers the insurance company would total it out.

Has anyone confirmed if the car has a salvage or clear title? Their assistant only answered that it was on the page. All I see is asterisks next to title. Update I created a profile and it came back as Salvage/rebuildable title.

What is the correct snake emblem for the rear fenders on a 1969 GT350 convertible?  Is it the C9OZ-16228A adhesive-backed snake emblem that is typically listed on eBay?
Good question as I found out there are 2 snakes. 1 for the rear quarter on verts and a more flatter one for the roof. I made a "mold" for checking them and gave it to a friend who has a large ziplock bag filled with snake emblems from a guy who worked for the company that made them for Ford. I actually own both varieties of these snakes.

Is there any other info. out there on this one-number match, rust, panel swaps, previous owners etc.
Since it was FLA-SAAC's car maybe Tony can shed some light. Maybe not as he might be bidding on it. Only a few hours north of him in crappy Ft Pierce(stay on the Island portion when visiting).

Rule #1.....always have a fire extinguisher in your car......both personal car and collector car

I have personally put out 3 car fires ( others) in the last 5-7 years.
Back seat on the floor. I got 4 in my garage at home. Check gas line hoses periodically.

Looks like some parts were taken off before the insurance company adjuster showed up. If you have stated value on a car and take parts off of it before the adjuster shows up is that OK? Did the parts disappear between payout and 14 months to this point.  Asking for a friend.  Too bad the parts are gone. Car doesn't run without the Shelby console in there unless rewired but don't think it will start anyways...

Hi all

this is my car, the CEO1 as I call it.  Built on a real 93 Cobra black/black car.  No detail was left out, from the emission decal, door jamb alteration label to the ID plates.

I have done a couple SAAC “clones” previously, most notably the red MKII convertible I called 022.

I was lucky to have lived in Dearborn. Most of my life, was around these things came out originally. Huge fan from the beginning… I am the administrator of the “SAAC Mustangs“ Facebook group.

I couldn’t have reached the level of detail without the help of Dave Eber, he was instrumental in getting this car correct.  according to Dave, they had planned on building one Cobra enhancement option vehicle, but the customer was in California and they were not able to secure a cobra with the California emission option, so the car was never built.

As long as it is labeled as a clone, and shown as a clone, I have no issues with it. If there is nothing on the car showing it as a clone, and you are leaving it up to the interpretation of the person looking at it, then I consider that in very poor taste. Just like someone stripping all of the power options out of a none sunroof 86 SVO and calling it a 86 comp car, when in fact, it is not. But that is just me, a cobra replica owner who always tells people what it is.

Bill
My good friend Mark Haas had a lot of SVOs at one time including comp prep cars. He owned at the same time both of the MAC tools race cars(one raced the other one never did as the back up). IIRC I drove one of his comp prep cars to a local cruise/car show. roll up windows. Stripped of many things. Mark was the "go-to" guy for SVO parts and had a huge NOS collection of parts and I'm pretty sure that is what he traded for a brand new very long enclosed trailer(took a LONG time to get it built thanks to Covid). They said only in white and that  has always been his color of choice. We even delivered a comp prep car to a guy in STL back in 2009.

The car in question was built 7 week before the distributor and there was not a 4 barrel 351 Windsor in 1970 to require an emissions related distributor swap at A.O. Smith. Unless every other 70 gt350 had a after build date distributor, Someone changed it out at some point. Now if this was a BAT auction the
" shelbymann1970 " would be screeching "incorrect part - incorrect part", but here there is a discussion to determine what the facts are.
Hey if you still haven't noticed in your anger ands quickness to attack me  I STARTED this topic. You are trying to frame me as someone I am not ,hence, you are an asshole plain and simple and a negative to our hobby as in whast have you ever contributed to this forum other than biased opinions and attacks. I don't know what your issues are and you definitely have issues others have pointed out to me privately. I started a few topics in regards to the history of 1970s and correct parts-which You do not own- and distributors as much focus has always been on the GT500s and not the GT350s and not much has been researched on distributors and the vacuum schematics and vacuum advances on these cars as not a lot converted. So since you know nothing on this topic you should just go away as you add ZERO value to this subject. Again  :( :( :(

Your life appears to be a great success, ha ha ha - you are a legend in your own mind.
still being an asshat I see. Grow up and calm down. You get off on harassing people. What a little man you are. Really sad. Heck you don't even have my handle right on BaT when you quoted earlier. You appear to be a guy who does zero research and has a lot of biases. I really do pity you. When you lash out you have a problem and with someone you never met or conversed directly to? It shows you lack of character.

I threw this up on a couple of related Facebook groups to help warn others.

I guess getting back to the original point of this is that did Ford build out Shelbys knowing they would be converted to 70 models? 4 speed  GT350 distributors are dated June of 1969 so well before the end of the last Shelby being produced. With ford having designs going for a 71 Shelby and AO Smith cancelling their contract after 1969 did Ford decide to keep building 69 Shelbys under the contract with AO Smith knowing these built cars would eventually be 1970 models? I know Claude wanted a bunch for his dealership in Belgium and ordered a bunch of 70s but other than that what was Ford's direction in all of this? I don't think this topic has ever been discussed in length and too many people say all 1970s were leftover 69s that Ford couldn't sell so they decided to convert to 1970 models. Time frame from distributors being made, Ford testing to come up with the ED distributors, Claude ordering 70 Shelby all point to me that Ford possibly in the spring decided to build out some Shelbys for 1970 after losing the AO Smith contract at the end of 1969 production. Thoughts?
Also on my 1969 1970 Shelby Mustang Facebook page I started a topic on 70 GT350 distributors  since we have some 70 owners on the page to find out  to what is on people's cars.

Kind of ironic that if this ascertain was being made on bring a trailer, you would be attacking the seller for trying to explain something that's not correct.
Oh,  you can't help being an incorrect ASSHOLE.  ZERO VALUE added. Go away.
