Can't you just picture me and 6S1680 cruisin down PCH  Hwy 1 and as I look over my Le Mans stripes smiling because of the amazing hood scoop and listening to my solid lifters singing one note because I just adjusted them and I catch a glance of some pretty bright orange cones up the road with black and white CHP dodge polaras parked and Standing CHP drill sergeant hatted guys waving everyone into their special lanes for the big sniff and inspection? But As I draw closer the CHP sees my sticker on my windshield smiles and waves me through with a big thumbs up !! another great day on PCH with my Shelby as I Catch a glance off at  Catalina island 26 miles across the sea!! Thanks for my "Exempt sticker

I don't remember anyone owning a 66 Shelby at Mt. sac in walnut or cal poly Pomona : I'm wondering what the exempt cars had on them in 68-69 so they weren't pulled into the CHP cones other than whipping out their owners manual and showing them that first page? And if our GT350's both have them to show exempt doesn't that make sense?

Yes they definitely had tailpipe devices that they stuck up into your tailpipes! How many 66 Shelby's have this " exempt sticker? And remember that these were not " passed emissions stickers " these were only for cars that were exempt " like the 427 cobra and GT350's ( both my 66 Shelby and this one on BAT " have this sticker "; so any 1974"cars have them that you know of ?? Curious!

I remember going to college in 68 the CHP would set up cones to block the road and direct cars into a tailpipe sniffer for emissions! In my owners manual I read that Shelby got the 427 cobra and the GT350 " exempt " from California emissions! There's an unrestored green 66 on BAT" that still has the passenger side lower windshield with its " exempt " sticker still!! I was  fortunate enough to find the exempt " sticker still on my car when I bought it in 97 ! Does anybody else have one and was it just 1966 or was it later years as well ( the orange one found on my windshield and the blue is what you got after you were inspected)

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / Re: Shelby 6S898

Is there any other scenario that a 66 would have ended up with side exit exhaust other than owner installed changes

My brother David has 6S898 and the exhaust system that was installed on it is substandard; He had a conversation with a SASC representative that his car could have come with sides exhaust like the 65's!? is that true or would that be correct for 6S898 ( over rider traction bar car ) February build?

I did not know that Jeff! Wow!! Sooo vin stamp on blocks???
#85
I think I'm answering my own question! Only the 350's because ford installed it !
#86
Did the police Innercepter" originally have only dated casting for identity? My 69 Mach 1 had numbers at the back of the block on a Cobra jet engine that matched the vin ?

I'll try to find it? What's the video called Randy? Gary has a model A with ford power now! ( he has to many cars)  ;D

Up For Auction / Re: B9 sold at BJ

On all unibody cars the front aprons are part of the frame; manufactures have to go through crash testing and how they crash and crumple is a safety regulation! When I was a buyer at our Ford store I had to be careful of prior repaired unibody cars; we needed a disclosure of it if we ever were to resale one or in another collision if one got hurt you would be responsible and surely loose a law suit ! Even though this b69 was older in building safety it would make a definite caution and it's value should reflect that !

Thanks for the info everyone! Chrome it is!! I've seen some turning the shiny side upside down?? I'm liking the idea of chrome up ?? Now I've got to find a spare tire and those blue streaks are a bit pricey? Any used ones out there??

Ouch that's way to low as that should be six figures in the right crowd !! I hope he ran it with a reserve?? Has BJ spread themselves to thin with to many sub auctions?
