Well Phil,  besides the obvious ones (Archway, Berry, Dockery, Rice & Holman), the two Southeastern VA Shelby dealers are there (Bowditch in Newport News (1965-66) and Kimnach in Norfolk (1967-70)). A friend also bought a new 1967 GT500 from Bruce-Flournoy in Norfolk, apparently a dealer transfer. The other interesting one to me is the Norris Ford emblem. They were a big high performance dealer between DC and Baltimore in the late 60s- early 70s, sponsoring drag cars and offering special dealer high performance packages.
Very cool collection, if you ever decide to let go of the Bowditch emblem let me know- my 66 GT350 was sold new there. Thanks for sharing your collection.

  Was probably Foreign Car Center, I believe it was in Birmingham, Alabama. A friend owns 6S2301, was sold new there.

The transition from a bottom drain plug to none occurred in 1969. The original transmission to my 69 gt350 conv (#362)has a drain plug while the original trans to my 69 Fairlane 500 SCJ car has none. I've had a number of other 1969 toploaders and they came both ways.

A few Shelby and Ford guys showed up at The Farmers Table in Smithfield last Sunday,  including Greg Bradner with his Superformance Mk II, Gil Portalatin with his 69 GT500, Howard Thomas with his 69 GT350 and Tim Kilinski with his 66 GT350. See the photos below.

I particularly like the backup light assemblies being used for front turn signals. Same as it was when a buddy flew out to CA to look at it 6 years ago......

   Very cool, did you have to do an intermediate scrubbing or did the springs clean up that well just by one soaking?

  The Cougar actually belongs to the guy who organized the cruise in. They had a good Mercury turnout with the Cougar, two 1965 Cyclones (both 4 speeds) and the 1954 Merc. Hopefully you can make it to the next one with your XR-7G.

  Glad to do it. This is the third local event that we have done a club so far in 2023,  andthebestclub participation so far. Hope to get a few more in before the end of the year.

  Oh yeah, I like Fairlanes (particularly 1966-67s) almost as much as Shelbys. My Holy Grail is either a 64 Thunderbolt or one of the 1966 427 Fairlane 500s (57 built). My Fairlane claim to fame is a dark blue 1969 Fairlane 500 coupe factory equipped with a Q code 428SCJ/4 speed and 3.91 gears; I think there are a couple of photos of it in the Friday link below. These links from the FCA Nationals at York PA in 2022 have photos of a couple of those 1966 427 cars.
