I noticed that by doing it the way you did,  you eliminated the need to drill out the threads on the calipers, which means they can be used as purchased. Very cool, good engineering!

Good story written about how the wreck happened in Mike Mooney's book about the Griffith. Another demo ride gone wrong (and in a residential area to boot.....)

Hey Paul,
We need to hear your side of the story about the aborted run to Anaheim in 1984......  ;D

HAHA, I didn't actually notice the VW in the photo until I was processing my photos that night (I think it was in Scottsville). It was a poor stand in for my blue/white stripes 66 GT350 I left in the garage that day.......

Thanks for posting, looks to have been a great day, good turnout. Like that Fairlane rag top !
Honk, If it's the one I'm seeing, that's a vinyl top on the blue Fairlane. Maybe I'm missing something. :o

Yes, Beautiful turnout and weather. 8)

HAHA, yeah, the Camaro owner was a patron of the restaurant, who just happened to roll in after we were there. Besides the fact that I like really like Z/28s and Yenkos (although I'm pretty sure that was a clone), I wanted to get a photo of the Camaro with all of the Shelbys breathing down its neck LOL.

As for the Fairlane, it's actually a white painted roof (and believe it or not, that's how it came. Other than being repainted, it is a mostly original car that my buddy Tom got out of Ohio a couple of years ago. Just north of 50K orig miles.

A small group of early GT350 owners from Eastern and Central VA got together today to make a run up Route 6 from Richmond, through Scottsville and up to a section of the Blue Ridge Parkway south of I-64, ending at The Blue Mountain Brewery in Afton VA for lunch. Larry Barnett, Bob Garland, Greg Bradner and Tim Kilinski drove their 66 and 67 GT350s (I just rode along and took pictures this time). Great company, great weather and great food. Thanks to Tim for organizing this.

As promised, the link to some of my photos from the 2021 edition of the Virginial Festival of the Wheel. As Flmach1 noted, the theme was Ford v Ferrari. About 150 cars, lots of spectators. The event benefitted the Cancer Center at the University of Virginia:
