having to deal with restrictive 1920 Jones Act. (Have to transport with US registered and 75% US crew ships between US ports).

Hi... US Merchant Mariner here with a reality check.
The Jones Act protects not only US flag vessels and US Mariners but the ships need to be made in the USA. This protects US shipyards.
It also protects US ports as all US sailors have a huge amount security checks in order to maintain their licenses.

Without the Jones Act you would have shipyards disappear from the USA and would have Chinese or Saudi owned vessels pushing red flag barges up the Mississippi and throughout our inland waterways with Foreign crews.  I'm sure there would never be any price gouging by a Chinese owned company once they owned the industry.
Once a manufacturing sector disappears, it does not come back ever.

Anyway, just tossing that out.
Carry on

Ah yes, the ever popular plot line:
"We take a unique vintage beauty and make it into some cookie cutter bs."

Years ago my wife wanted to attempt sending my truck to an "overhaulin" kinda deal while I was offshore.
I threatened to burn the truck in the yard.
At least the ole F100 would die respectfully with her rust and 4-5 seat covers.

The pictures Dominic posted are very helpful. Some of my observations have been that some original 63/64 fuel logs have the attaching straps welded on (like the repo's that are available). I have not seen any fuel logs that were reported as original 67 Shelby that did not have spot welded straps.
The color of the plating is also important to notice. The original 67 fuel logs have the dichromate that seems to have more green tint. All the repo's seem to have the heavy gold tint look.

Yessir. That is why I spent a fortune having exact replicas made from a custom shop, and plating them in house.
The color is partially based on thickness of coating and plating style.
Modern plating techniques use widely different chromates and sealants that change the appearance.
You can get around this some, but it takes a huge amount of effort and understanding of the chemistry.

Probably not my place given my hobby/business. (But here goes)

I've heard some things about this guy from people I would trust without a doubt.
I would really be wary, if you could show up, see the carb in person and buy it, fine.

There, that is the most smack I talk about a specific carb vendor

That picture was from member 2112's carbs.

I have roughly 20 original fuel logs at the shop and have spent a good bit of time studying them. I have also had the opportunity to study NOS from throughout the 60s.
Hate to burst anyone's idea of correct, but I have seen 2 different but correct logs from Shelby's and 2, different but correct ones from early 60s (63-64).

I have reproductions made, they aren't perfect, but will pass most "experts."
Most experts I have met, if you handed them an NOS fuel log, they would rant about it being a cheap aftermarket parts.

^^^ Uh oh, Drew has competition from 17-year-old Riley & Company.

I was one of the first to promote her business.
I shared it and it got 800,000 views via my page very quickly.

Two things:
-I enjoy competition. I wish there was a young person doing restorations so I have more incentive to work harder. Customers would benefit from higher quality and price competition.

-She is seeing a lot of fame and benefits very quickly without having had to do a lot of work to get there.
The next year or two will determine the outcome there. It would be really easy for her to cash in on you tube fame vs having her work do the talking.

Now we wait and see. I certainly hope it works out for her and increases interest and awareness of mechanical things with the under 30 crowd.

Do you sell good, American made needle and seat assemblies for Holley 4150 series carbs with LeMans bowls?

I have 1,000 of them... I'll be totally honest, I have no idea where they were made. They have worked fine for me this far.
I could ask the supplier, but I really doubt they'd tell me the truth.

Best bet if you want american made is to reuse an original steel needle from a 3255. Just re lap the needle to the seat. I have a bucket of them if you wish to try that. I don't use them as frankly, most people don't understand the importance of fuel control or filtration, so the viton cause less issues.

Anyone else here gone from 60mph to 100mph in a Tesla?
As a gearhead I was impressed.
It's actually a lot of fun, I'd love to go out and try to break one on a track.

*disclaimer*
I don't give a crap about who voted for what or if little kids mine minerals that will kill us all in groundwater.... I just thought it was fun technology.

I thought this was kinda wild. So I spent some time looking while watching my documentary tonight.

Seems used these are $4500ish, new the battery packs are $7500-$10000. Crazy expensive for sure, but makes me wonder why that place was charging so much more. Maybe aftermarket vs original?

Either way, disposable cars in a disposable society.

That is so true.  You did an excellent job on the fire survivor carb I sent you.  It may not look perfect, but works great.

Greek

This is the same. I cannot fix the pock mark of corrosion, but the insides of this one were perfect. Even the gasket mating surfaces required very very little.

Magnificent work, a true craftsman

Well, more than that.
This is a "services offered" in that you may think your rotten piece of history is history... give me a chance. Maybe it won't be perfect, but we might make it usable again.

Worth a shot

I think it has a W circled and some weird design.
Few would look close enough. I was hesitant to post my link as it isn't "correct"

Sometimes you just need to connect two parts
