My 68 convertible has aged well in most cases but not all. Specifically, the chrome took a hit after being in a barn so long. That said to make the car presentable (preservation vs. restoration) I have to address the blistering on the door handles and remote mirror. BUT brand new chrome looks out of place to the rest of the car. That said if you know someone with these parts that look really nice BUT doesn't meet their concourse standards and so they went NOS or something, please have them reach out to me. "Looking for properly aged" but not blistered. Thanks! -John 7745713774 txt/call

pulled back the top and the ends are decaying. Looks like POR 15 and some bondo could do the trick. Anyone ever successfully repaired one? if so how? thanks.

So today the 90 degree end to the wire that goes to the temp sending unit broke (red/white stripe). Original. Old wires so I thought lets get a new harness, just that shorter one plugs in by the firewall. Two reds and a middle beige colored wire. Upon closer examination i discover the following. One wire in the harness goes to the coil, one to the temp unit and the third wire (beige) no where! BUT of course the oil sending wire comes from the console and uses its own wire beige in color that wraps around the head not utilizing the wire in the "coil/temp" harness.

What am i not realizing here? Three wires go in and only two come out. thanks

See picture for the harness I want to replace (red) with the mystery center wire

1968 Shelby GT350/500/500KR / Correct carburetor
January 17, 2021, 09:18:22 PM
With the price of these things I want to be sure I get exactly what I need... 1968 GT 350 4speed. Built 4-23-68.
* Correct Carb: S8MS-9510-C OR Autolite C8ZF-C. Is one more correct or desirable than the other?
* Date: I assume 833,834,841,842 any of these would be correct?
* Part number and date is on the carb horn and/the tag if still on it?
* What is LIST- ####? Do I care about this number?

Am I missing anything else? Any beware of XYZ?

Thanks!!!!!

My seal has been chewed a bit by mice at some point. I am wondering if you guys have seen a reproduction that is considered excellent or does anyone have a nice used one to sell? -John
