1968 Shelby GT350/500/500KR / Header bow rust fix
« on: November 20, 2020, 12:36:28 PM »
Under the vinyl top just above the windshield I can see the signs of rust underneath. Id like to repair that without going overboard. Is it as simple as removing staples and pull the top back a bit exposing the rusted areas for repair and fold back/staple? thanks

1968 Shelby GT350/500/500KR / thoughts on what was done to these heads
« on: October 29, 2020, 08:14:36 PM »
so as not to confuse my other post regarding rocker arms. Enclosed are pictures of the heads in question. I think I need to get an idea of what was done to these heads before I pursue rocker arms now that I took the rockers off.
*1974 heads
* no 302 casting
* 22 on the front edge
* That other symbol seen in picture
* T and an I casting

Based on the pictures does anyone have an idea of what was done? Looks like they were performance improved. Also they had 2x valve cover gaskets to keep the rockers from striking the valve cover. Id like to leave them alone at this point. Thoughts on a more professional "thick' gasket idea?

1968 Shelby GT350/500/500KR / heater hose
« on: June 10, 2020, 06:37:19 AM »
im trying to determine what was correct in 68 I have a April car. the hoses in my car appear original the core was bypassed and the two cut then connected. One is red and the other black. they also have horizontal line patterns in them. Ive reed elsewhere about many different types but I don't see anything that suggests the factory correct hoses. Any ideas?

« on: June 07, 2020, 06:07:45 PM »
opened it up today and it is rusted and empty... I assumed the rear would be since im working on that section of the car. Looks really bad in the cylinder. So what are you guys doing in these cases to keep original? I assume this one is the original but I will need to confirm. Thanks once again! -John
