You can find charts on the internet that say what FL SAAC said but they seem to have all copied the same incorrect information from earlier printed books.

Excellent point, sir. There are those that have knowledge and others that have, well...

It’s pretty obvious after a couple days. ;)

Or just a few post...  ::)

The exact same casting ID was used on every size FE (except the 427) so it could be a 352, a 390, a 410 or a 428. Casting numbers on FE blocks are generally useless except the date code next to the oil filter adapter. It may or may not be a 428CJ but hopefully it is.

At the end of the day you need the date code, the presence of a C scratch on the rear bulkhead, and a 4.13" bore size with a 1U crank to know for sure.

... or if you’re looking for the correct replacement parts not the repo china stuff just ask. There’s plenty of parts available from many of the members on this forum.

The forgotten ones

Roger that. We overlook the magic that Carroll worked with Chrysler's vehicle line up. And that was thanks to Lee Iacocca retaining him. I recall at a Hot Rod Drag Week, one Dodge Omni (I think) was running low 11 second quarter-mile times. As enthusiasts, they deserve our admiration.

Better get one now before the "public" gets wind of this and the prices soar to collector status...  :o

Only 500 produced...isn't their a registry???

I sent the OP a message and apologized for addressing your passive-aggressive behavior on his post as there was no "trolling". The question was formed in a manner to clarify the OP's post as to his query and chosen name for a component. It was a genuine attempt to assist. I thought I recalled that he wasn't from the United States and I thought perhaps there was a language barrier.

As for basement dwellers. I'll just stay up stairs in my million dollar home as there are few basements in the DFW area. In case your forgot both my parents passed away 32 days apart over Christmas and New Years.

You and few others have elected to become the issue here hiding under an assortment of screen names with your hit and run attacks. Bitter, hostile and simply nasty. High school is long over, as is college follies.

We've had polite discussions many times in the past, Chris.  Most of us provide helpful information, and not all information is about Concours.
While I have been trying to be polite set the last year and a half behind me and move you're making it all but impossible.  You want to have an exchange, pull it off the forum and do so in PM so you don't make others wallow in your misery.

I have been called worse by better, I accept your apology  ;)

I'm just paying it forward. I owe this site and the members a debt of gratitude, without them I would have had a much more difficult time assembling my car.

Don't worry about the trolls after all what do you expect from someone who lives in their mommy's basement.  ;)

I don't recall the exact size but here is the AMK listing for barrel nuts. I believe you are looking for type 1.

I don't think you have the correct clips. I believe they should be push in not threaded. You also need a barrel nut in the fibreglass to hold them in place.

I'll look for pictures after supper.

Concours Talk / Re: 1968 firewall heater hose grommet
« on: July 17, 2020, 10:43:03 AM »
No grommets for AC cars that plugged the firewall in 68' where the non-AC cars heater core passes through??

OP question was about grommets around heater hose NOT about block off when AC installed. Lets not confuse the issue.

Start a new thread if you want an answer to the blocked off heater hose when AC used question, I will be happy to answer.

This thread is query concerning 'Evans waterless coolant'.
Evans NPG coolant (non-aqueous propylene glycol) and its employment is not rocket science, but it operates on completely different physics laws than water or ethlyene glycol and related additives. It can be easily understood by one simple reading.
Because it is neither water, ethelyne glycol (and related enhancers) based, most of the conventional 'wisdom' regarding OEM cooling system hardware, cooling and media behavior is nonsensical in relation to the OP's question.
Without knowing what it is, good-bad-or indifferent, we end up with a conflated attestation thread like this!

Lets get to the root of the problem... Its the lack of knowledge and understanding of the shop or individual, that cant figure out how to install a shock on a Mustang. Pick up your checkbook and car, Then drive as fast and far as you can possibly go from that shop. Like Doug said in a direct sort of way, if you dont have a shop that is qualified to install a set of shocks on a 1960s car shame on you, or shame on them. Either way most of us were changing these things out when we were 14- 15 years old and all we had was a set of Crescent wrenches, Channel lock pliers, and a screw drivers to do any job. ;D

You had a set of channel lock pliers too.....WOW your family must have been rich  :)

I don't hate him either.  However, he's certainly no hero. That's all I was saying.  I did think enough to take a picture of his headstone while I was in France.

As for Chris: I'm not in Canada. We don't live under an oppressive government federally speaking. That means the first amendment still applies.
As a caveat: My favorite band is Canadian.   I have seen RUSH 14 times.  So all isn't bad.  I  just don't care for druggies.
Oh, and have a nice day!

Smoking a big fatty as I read this...

Only 14 times....newbie...  ;D
