The Lounge / Re: No Title - Sold on Bill of Sale

I don't know in Maryland but in Floridaland:

For the buyer, the bill of sale serves as a basic requirement for either registering the vehicle or transferring the title of the newly-purchased vehicle.

I guess if you have all documents authorized or notarized showing seller , buyer amount of transaction you will be OK.

In FL we have one more step when it comes from another state,  we need to have law enforcement verify its v.i.n. vs the title.

Best of luck

"Seeing the need for a true driver's car..." So, what does he call Ferraris, Porsche GT3s, and a bunch of other damn great driver's cars currently in new car showrooms? (Yes, including the Shelby GT500 and Corvette Z06.) I guess his definition of a "true driver's car" and mine are different.

Agree 100% and some of these cars can be bought for $70k

Let's start with the engine.  Why would anyone want a turbo four-banger in a car like that?  And one that's Saleen's own design, to boot?  Does it come with a lifetime warranty? What about dealer (who? what?) service and parts support for at least a decade?

That's what I said with ford's last GT renditions why a V6 ?

IMO: He ought to stick to modifying existing cars and not try and beat Carroll at the "I made this car" game. Besides, Steve already did the S7...a pretty good super car by most accounts.

S7 what a great vehicle performance and styling, it will never happen again

And yes, Steve will tell you that he's built more cars than CS ever did, by many times over (and it's true) but that doesn't make him Carroll Shelby.  And, it isn't the '60s anymore, either.

Truly doesn't matter who built more CS will always be CS

Even CS found out how hard it is to capture his own brand of lightning-in-a-bottle again, with the Series 1. And that was 25 years ago. It's much, much, harder today.

I would say impossible in today's environment

Creating your own car basically from scratch, with your own unique powerplant, and then trying (hoping?) to make it as reliable, safe, comfortable, emissions-compliant, long-lasting and warranty-able as any car from a conventional manufacturer that has gazillions of dollars in R&D, is about as difficult as it gets.

Forget about it

I'll be shocked beyond belief if this project ever comes to fruition. Let alone makes a profit. There are so many really great sports and exotic cars on the market today, that to find any sort of a new market niche is next to impossible

One can always "dream the impossible dream" sounds like a song.....
