A few weeks ago I attended and showed 2 cars at the NEC expo centre in Birmingham England. At the show I spoke to dozens of dozens of folks. No one however was an elderly gent who spoke to me and my wife three times. He had an awesome story. He moved to America from the UK with his young wife and child with 100 pounds in his pocket and a hard work attitude. He moved to the states and worked for GE. He was doing very well and was told he had a job for life if he wanted it. He told story after story about how much he loved the USA and working for GE. Then he saw a 67 Mustang in the dealership and had to have it. As he knew he would eventually move to the UK again he bought a 6 cyl model but choose the fastback as he loved the design

He started looking at Shelbys and really wanted one of those and was in the process of saving up for one to trade his fastback for but it was no to be. One day his wife, just before he left for work, said she was going back to the UK and that was that. he packed up and moved back with her, taking his 67 Fastback with him shipping it on the Queen Elizabeth!!!

So in chatting with him I enquired if the car was possibly for sale and he said it would be "for the right price" So I was interested as you would be :-)

I set up a meeting with him after the show ended Sunday night, We were 3 hours from home and he was a further hour from our house so wanted to tie the visit into this trip. It was not to be. His ride to the show (a 68 Charger) had mechanical trouble so me and my wife drove home with hopes to see the car one day.

A week later I rang up Herbie and spoke to him and he was wanting me to see it in the spring so I could have nice weather to inspect. YEAH RIGHT, Like I would be able to wait. Long story short I drove 4 hours last night and stayed in a hotel and then saw the car this AM. She was a tired old 67 but remarkably solid having been in storage since 1978 after a run in with a hedge put it off the road.

What I adored about the car was the dash, you will see what I mean when you see the photos.

With the purchase came a briefcase that he said contained all the documents on the car. I figured it would be the usual. A nice spread of receipts with few meaningful bits. BOY WAS I WRONG.

I have had well over 150 Mustangs, some with insane levels of documentation but never had this sort of paperwork from day one of ownership and since. Letters to USA car dealers ordering parts, tech specs. Owners card, Orig owners manual, safety brochure and windscreen card, First payment receipt, selling salespersons card, Dealer deal sheet, invoice, window sticker.....gobs and gobs of it including the mirror hang tags from the Queen Elizabeth

Hello Folks

I have a 68 fastback Shelby tribute. All the body mods are similar to a shelby of the same year so hope someone has an idea of how to sort

Upon acceleration a very strong smell of petrol enters the cabin

Floats in carb are set correctly and zero petrol smell at the front of the car

I understand it can be the fuel filler rubber tube, the trunk lid seal, gas cap, exhaust tips not being long enough or gaps around tail lamps

My question is, what do you use to seal around the tail lamps and rear panel?

Hello Folks,

I have a Mustang GT, A factory one, 1965, Trans is a T10 with the cars VIN stamped in it showing its the born with trans.

I need to have it rebuilt here in Europe and thus need to order a rebuild kit from the states. A mistake would cost me dearly

Can anyone assist with which kit I need for the rebuild? I usually buy off ebay USA and ship to a freight forwarder.

Any help would be much appreciated.

As some of you know I dabble in classic Mustangs here in Europe. I am American by birth and both my parents were avid Mustang fanatics. We always had one or two Mustangs in the garage. At the time of my mothers passing I was left funds which allowed me to leave my job and take on the mantle I was born for. Importing and selling Mustangs. To say its a passion does not do it justice

Anyway, the reason of this post is to tell about a great supplier. I have bought approx 150 Mustangs in the states and imported them over the past three years. Some sellers are honest, some are evasive, some are downright dishonest. A VERY SELECT few would I send money without question for a car they have offered to me. Troy of Troys fine toys is one of about 3 that I would do that.

The first car he sold me was so out of control nice it never got offered for sale. An insanely nice GT350 replica.

A few months ago he asked if I wanted another, A 68 Mustang, he sent some photos, we negotiated for about half a day and I bought

I am not very happy, why? Because the damn thing is so good its another I may have to keep. Paint is flawless, Body is flawless, interior....oh man!!!

He gave me chapter and verse about its condition, its driving habits and its few foibles (that I have yet to see myself :-) )

This car was the first we have ever had come in that needed zero electrical repair. My electrics guy was laughing as he came back from the tests "Even the alternator is chucking out the right charge"

Recently bought a 67 fastback that I believe has four American racing 14 inch magnesium wheels

The back of the hub mounting area is hollow and they are very light

Five spoke TTD style. Black centers with a bare metal lip

Are these worth anything?

Trying to determine if selling the car with them or without them makes sence

Back of rim on bead area says in raised cast letters, Made in USA and 6x14. Also there are oval metal inserts for behind the wheel nuts. They fit in an oval recess

 A mate asked if I wanted to go to a local show that was happening in a few weeks. I said yes and today was the show. It was a different kind of show in that it was indoors as well as being for the Stance crowd.

So BMWs, VWs, Supras, RX7s, crazy paint, stereos wheels, slammed to the ground cars and then there was us. Him in his 32 street rod and me in the 68 Shelby clone

Well he won best of show and I won a trophy in Vintage....what a surprise

Just goes to show that car folks are car folks, we all like great cars

Even though I adore my 66 GT50 with its 65 style side exhaust it is making me deaf

Can anyone suggest a replacement system?

My car is not concourse nor will it ever be a super duper show car in my ownership, so not looking for a Scott Fuller type of system

I don't however want to make alterations to install a new system

I am thinking about an Arvindode system at this point

Any comments, suggestions would be most welcome.
