CSX 2000 Series / Re: Halibrand / Kidney bean wheels

Thank you both for your replies. Will look into both.
The car is not with me - it is still in UK getting an overhaul for the owner. So C&G would be an option. Although I do know their pricing...(but they are really good!). I will be at Goodwood in April, they should be there, too.

Thanks,
Ralf

PS - I am in Germany/Bavaria.

Since there are no replies I do assume that it isn´t possible.

Now - what size/offset of Kidney Bean wheels would fit without putting on flares ? Would those wheels be available anywhere, plus hubs ? Tyres should be 205/70.

Thank you for any help.

Ralf

Hi ! Would anybody know if it is possible to get Halibrand or Kidney Bean style wheels which can be put on the wire wheel hubs of an early 260 ?
I‘ve seen one with aluminum wheels fitted, using the wire wheel spinner/nut.

Earl - thank you very much for your reply.
It's as I thought - I guess the car in question is the one that races over here in Europe.
I already told him to not expect anything genuine, but wasn't totally sure about the story of 097.

A friend has been offered (first steps - no amount disclosed etc) what seems to be 5R097, at least that´s stamped on the chassis plate. All sound a bit suspicious...
Car is located in Switzerland (at least this might fit in), but hasn´t 097 been lost/destroyed ? Or resurrected ?
We just want to be sure what it could be.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Still waiting in Germany - there´s hope... ;)

The story from my link above goes ( and I have no idea if correct) that Dubois got the car handed over at the LM test week in 67. To his surprise the car was not new, but Shelby did send a run down two year old racecar with some races under his belt. That is with high probability the photo with spoile and license plate - a Belgian one which looks mounted as an afterthought. Probably to get the car back to Belgium.
They did complain to Shelby about the condition of the car - fortunately he send them free of charge a complete, new mechanical setup in time for LM proper.

Front. Logos on the aux lamps are the SEV Marchal ones as on the front fenders.

Here are photos from the model I have - I couldn’t get the one from the photo above, which is sold out.
Mine is less detailed, price has been lower, too.
