CSX 2000 Series / Halibrand / Kidney bean wheels
« on: February 28, 2024, 07:34:16 AM »
Hi ! Would anybody know if it is possible to get Halibrand or Kidney Bean style wheels which can be put on the wire wheel hubs of an early 260 ?
I‘ve seen one with aluminum wheels fitted, using the wire wheel spinner/nut.

1965 GT350/R-Model / 5R097
« on: February 11, 2023, 06:27:13 AM »
A friend has been offered (first steps - no amount disclosed etc) what seems to be 5R097, at least thatīs stamped on the chassis plate. All sound a bit suspicious...
Car is located in Switzerland (at least this might fit in), but hasnīt 097 been lost/destroyed ? Or resurrected ?
We just want to be sure what it could be.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Replicas and Tribute / Long racing lug nuts
« on: April 13, 2021, 09:23:29 AM »
Hi - I am looking for a source for the long, open ended racing lug nuts. My car did come with a set, the shouldered seat type with washers.
But - for a different set of wheels I need tapered ones.
Cobra Automotive does sell them, I know - are there any other sources ?

Thanks !

Northwest Region SAAC / Looking for David L. Schroeder, Portland
« on: February 11, 2021, 01:21:38 PM »
Hi everybody - sorry for posting this here, too...
I am looking for a former owner of my car (not a real Shelby, but clone, evocation, tribute or whatever... ;) :D ).
His name is David Leroy Schroeder from Portland. He did own the car from ca. 2000 to 2008/9, when it was sold to France. The french owner unfortunately doesnīt have contact details.
Mr Schroeder seems/seemed to be quite active in Vintage racing, mostly with Porsches. He also took part in the Forest Grove Rotary Concours at least once with the Mustang.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Cheers,
Ralf

SAAC Forum Discussion Area / Former owner from Portland OR
« on: February 03, 2021, 03:16:28 AM »
My car is not an original but a tribute (as some may have read in other topics) built some 30 years ago in the Coachella/Palm Springs area.
From there it went to Portland to a Mr. David Leroy Schroeder. Via Google Iīve found some information that he is/was quite active in historic racing, mostly with Porsches. He did own the Mustang for 8/9 years and did some minor events, as far as I know, also took part in the Forest Grove Rotary Concours in that time (up to 2008/9).
It would be nice to get in touch with him to fill in a bit more of the history.
He sold the car to a guy in France in 2009 - unfortunately he doesnīt have any contact details any more.

It would be great if someone here might know Mr. Schroeder.

1965 GT350/R-Model / R-model Raydyot mirror
« on: November 04, 2020, 10:20:07 AM »
The Raydyot mirrors do have a flat mounting plinth(hope thatīs the correct word for it).
Now, if I want to mount it at the correct place on a 65, the door is not flat, but concave.
Any hints, tips, ideas what to do ? Maybe a thick piece of rubber ?
I havenīt seen a original R door in the metal unfortunately.

Thank you for any help.

The Lounge / Newbie from Germany
« on: November 04, 2020, 10:09:01 AM »
Hi everybody - my name is Ralf....and I am from Germany.
I am a new Mustang owner, not an original Shelby, unfortunately, but of a tribute, clone or whatever one might call it.
I have thought a few days about mentioning at all after reading the discussions about tribute cars on another topic, but why not..
I would never tell anybody that it is an original, nor does it have a fake VIN tag or GT350 badge. Unfortunately, it did get all the GT350 stripes a few years ago in France, I am still unsure about them - none of them are painted, so easily removable.
Car has been modified quite good in the USA by former owners, mostly Shelby parts. I started putting on more 350R replica parts. I am a big fan of GT350 R models - but my funds would not stretch to an original or a genuine GT350.
I do hope, some of you might understand this.
I also will be asking some questions about details - here on this forum are so many knowledgable people, I did learn a lot already reading the last months.

Cheers,
Ralf
