Just curious, but would the intake manifold sealing washers have been re-used? Thanks for the quick response. Brian

Painted or not? Thanks. Brian

Thanks for the responses guys. Hopefully more will respond and we can form a consensus. Quite a range of numbers, 2800, 2600, 1575 and 1162 pounds. Modifying my z-bar is not really an option for me. 67 hipo pieces are a little too scarce. Brian

Have spent some time searching the web and can't seem to find any info on factory small block clutch specs. I'm specifically interested in the static clamping force, both base 289 and hipo. It's time to pick a clutch kit for my 67 GT350 and want to stay with a Long style, non-counterweighted pressure plate. Will be street driven and looking for an original "feel" on the pedal. Going with all stock clutch linkage and don't want something so heavy that things start bending. I have a previous post up looking for the specs on an old Hays 10CF plate, circa 1981, which I have and is in almost new condition, but don't know the spec on it. Shelby Parts recommends the McLeod with an advertised static force, of 1800 lbs. Hays has their Street 450 kit, 91-2001 with 2800 lbs, according to their tech guys. Quite a difference for 2 "street" clutches. Would like to have numbers on the factory pieces to compare these to. To be honest, I haven't found any other manufacturers offering the Long style set-up. NAPA, chain store?? Any thoughts, opinions or suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks. Brian

Craig said they were unable to get the chrome rims until recently. If you ordered 10 weeks ago I think the price was $400 per wheel. I ordered mine 7 days ago and am getting one of the last 2 sets in the current run. They shipped them out today. Unfortunately I waited a little too long to order so I got them at $450 per wheel. Time to pick out a set of tires. Brian

I went and pulled the trigger on a set of repops from Paradise wheel. It looks like they are back in production after a bit of a supplier issue. Will use the best of my originals for the spare. Maybe some time in the future someone will be restoring original rims, fixing dents/curb rash, rechroming and re-riveting original centers. Probably will be a "for display only, not for road use" disclaimer if they are. Brian

Thanks Randy. I'll give them a call tomorrow. Brian

Would anyone know what the clamping force is on an older Hays pressure plate, model 10CF. Called Hays/Holley tech support and so far no luck. Just a long shot, but maybe someone on these forums hoards old speed equipment catalogs. Thanks. Brian

Looking for opinions on restoring my Magstars, using my original centers and the newer DOT approved rim, versus buying new reproductions. Other than the approximately $100 per wheel savings by restoring mine, would there be any other factors to consider? Thanks. Brian

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Re: GT350 Air Cleaner Base

Thanks Randy and Bob. I searched "air cleaner" and nothing definitive came up. Maybe I missed something or searched wrong. Will try and find a picture on the web, now that I know what its configuration is. Brian

Should a 67 GT350 air cleaner base have a fitting for pcv hose connection? Thanks. B

I thought the 67 part didn't have the large hole. Brian

Wow, just logged on to ask the same thing. Also what if any part/engineering numbers should it have? Thanks. Brian

Going through a 289 I put together many years ago that has a B302 windage tray set-up. What are the correct grade, length and washer configuration for Boss302 windage tray mounting bolts. Have the correct main cap bolts with 5/16-24 tapped holes. Originally assembled with some parts store Grade 5, 3/4" long, with split locks and flat washers.  The Monroe book says 35-40 foot lbs. Got up to 30ft-lbs but and it just didn't feel right so I figured better to make sure I have the right hardware. Seems a little on the heavy side. What say those who with experience in these matters? Thanks. Brian

Remember seeing that movie a few years back. There was a quick shot, I think it was a studio shot, of a LeMans striped Falcon sedan delivery. Pete Brocks?? On the IMDB website it lists a credit for Hall Brock as "race marshal". I recall him being an older gentleman. Not a bad movie. It might show up on Turner Classics if they have Ronald Reagan as the featured actor for a day or week or however long they do those tributes. Or Lee Marvin, or Angie Dickinson, or John Cassavetes.
