2020 North East Fall Regional Shelby Meet – UPDATE!!!

Time for a BIG update on the event. We have all been bouncing around, trying to make events and car things work during these times, it has been a challenge. Unfortunately, most events have packed up and put off until next year.
We have moved parts of the event, changed others, but have been able to actually improve things, and keep us Covid-Compliant to boot. So the show goes on!
•   NEW SUNDAY CAR SHOW LOCATION – We’ve moved only a few miles from the former site, to just south of Hellertown. We’re now at the Silver Creek Athletic Association park. Located at 2943 Route 212 Springtown, PA 18081, 610/346-6840. Take Route 412 South from Rt 78, and head south on 412 through town, and turn left onto Rt 212. The park is a half mile on your left. Look for the signs. Lots of open space, miles of pavilions, bathrooms, fresh cooked food with a good menu, shade, music. They do many car shows there, and this should be a great spot! Bring your friends!
•   For those spending the weekend with us, we will also use the park for Saturday evening cook-out and movie! Directions and information will be in your entry packet.
•   Friday evening check in (with cheese steaks again), and Saturday breakfast are still at the Hotel
•   We have released the un-taken rooms in our reserved block, but many are still available. Please reserve now.
•   To keep compliant, all attendees and guests will be given a special SHELBY face mask. Please wear when required and keep handy over the weekend.
•   Our Charity this year is the SANCUARY AT HAAFSVILLE, and they will be at the show. Please help us support them.
•   Please watch the event Facebook page on the LVPASAAC Page -
•   Registration is still open – Sign up!!!!

Contact the 69-70 Registrar with that number

I run the FITECH on my small block. Same concept, very happy with the drivability and performance, easy to hide.

I went for the return line to the tank, so the fuel pump stays constant. Yes, an extra line, but after trying both thier surge tank set-up, and a single line, I found the system worked best with the return line. Use the 255 lph pump.

Many companies make gas tank adapters with pumps for the Mustangs.

Also remember under the hood you'll have alot of extra wires, so route carefully, add extra GOOD grounds.

Lots of changes, alterations, etc to keep us Covid Compliant, make the event still great, and probably improve the event!

Fri night event registration, Cheesesteaks, socializing still at the Hotel
Sat breakfast in new room, large, at hotel or under tent - still working on this.
Sat Tour - GREAT NEW ROUTE!! Spectacular views, ice cream of course
Sat night new more private location for dinner and movie, private pavillion, bathrooms

Silver Creeek Athletic Association - FANTASTIC private park, huge field for show cars, huge pavillion, real bathrooms, kitchen food, this will be a great relocation!

So, stop procrastinating, we've made the changes to make it work, plenty of room to keep apart, and SPECIAL SHELBY MASKS for every entrant!!!

Join us, get out and enjoy one of the few Shelby shows that stood up and made it happen!

Hotel reserved block over half gone, GET YOUR ROOM!!!

Well Deserved, Bob and enjoy! Are your boys staying behind?

And, who next will be in for NJ?

Just as an alternate suggestion for the Alt gauge fire hazzard, why not indeed by-pass as Bob noted, and replace the gauge with a voltage gauge in matching style? The feed is simple, and lets you know how the battery & voltage are?

My current 331, based on a 68 302 block is a very "Big" motor, roughly 450 HP, has 10.6:1 comp. A regular starter would not spin it, especially hot. Did all the grounds, battery, everything electrical.

Used a mini-starter, did the trick, spins it and starts, no matter the temp. Get the issues straightened out, and use/enjoy the mini-starter

Wanted to Buy / Re: Rear brake shoes needed for 5S003

Thanks Bob. I did that upgrade on my 1969, adding the rear drum assemblies from a 1965 Galaxie. Yes, different material and not segmented, but yes to the sizing and origin of the parts. Forced 15" wheel size. I also had to change the M/C for one with a correct bore to keep the brakes working correctly, but made a big difference in stopping.

As a non-original replacement, aren't those Galaxie/Full size/ Pick-up drum brake assemblies?

It is in the special 1969 Shelby Repair manual that's part of the blue manual set.

I used to have a copy, I can check.
