More details coming, but a repeat of last year's track day as part of the Team Shelby East Coast Grand Nationals.

We are using the North course, which includes NASCAR 3.
The event is geared for fun, those with lesser experience, and not a day to beat your car senseless. We'll also have morning and afternoon Touring groups for slower paced laps. Instructors will be available for the rookies.  Each group gets 20 minute sessions, 4 times. Classroom instruction for all Rookie and novice. No Competition or race classes.

Run Groups:
Beginner with instructor
Novice
Intermediate
Advanced (Must be approved in advance)

I am running the event. Modeled after HOD, NASA, and other HPDE track days. Strict passing zones, Point-to-pass ONLY, Snell 2015 and newer helmets ONLY (Not needed in touring).

More details to come...

To any regional group that has gone forwards and set yourself up as a non-profit group:

How did you do it? What style of organization did you use? Annual costs? Protection?

Many, many groups and clubs are in desperate need of this info. I invite SAAC Board to provide proper guidance. Most of the regional groups are flying unprotected, and it is getting very scary in the modern world. We need help and guidance.

My own regional group buys it's own insurance for the club from Hagerty, but we need to get banking and liability set. I have been running the club for 25 years, will be stepping down at the end of 2022. I MUST have the club set up as an organization able to stand on it's own.

New Jersey Region SAAC / Checkered Flag - Roy Miller
October 17, 2021, 06:36:13 PM
The older members may remember Roy. Lived in Phillipsburg for many years, has a Pastel Grey 1969 GT-350 4-Sp. We all knew him as "Dr. Panic". Truly a wonderful guy, active in SAAC starting back in the 1980's. I met Roy when I first moved out to that area, he was an amazing help, he and his wife Fran were so helpful, Godparents to my son.

Roy retired, moved to Delaware with the car, and was currently in Florida with his daughter's family. Many health issues later in life, finally put out the flame of a fierce fighter, friend to all. He's such an old friend, I don't have any digital images of him or the car.

Rest in peace my old friend, you and Walt are together again, fixing cars and drinking coffee.

1965 GT350/R-Model / 65 to Eastern PA from Colorado
July 26, 2021, 08:02:21 AM

I've been updated by a fellow enthusiast of a 1965 GT 350 now in the Eastern PA area. From what I know, originally sold by Galpin Ford, was in Colorado before coming east. I saw a few pics, car is restored, looks very nice.

Posting for reaching out to new owner for offering our regional group as a resource.

CSX 2000 Series / Formal Cobra Birthday?
March 17, 2021, 12:33:52 PM
Is there a day which is considered the official Birthday or Introduction day for the Cobra? As a comparison, the Mustang has April 17 as it's birthday.

Obviously the year is 1962.
