At one point, did that car have side pipes and rear wheel flares?

Got a few responses, thank you. We’ll move up to Denny Blocker’s place in Lehighton. Many have been there in the past for Snake3s on the Mountain, beautiful place, and he has a large and comfortable lower level with bar, seating, a few old cars, very nice and easy to be comfortable in.

Location – 1246 Mahoning Dr East. Look for the Red barn, and drive up the hill to the house behind. Enter lower level through door/patio on right side of the house.

Same timing – Socialize 7, biz at 7:30. Club will buy pizza, BYOB for anything to drink.

I’ll update on Tom when I hear anything.

All,

Tom is back in the Hospital, so the meeting Monday night (6/21) cannot happen at his house. I’d like to keep the meeting happening, so we need another location. Need a house with a larger room/garage, or large back yard patio area. We all can bring chairs if needed.

Dan Mohry?
Len?

Club will buy pizzas, all members brink your own drinks, including soda, water, beer, other.

Please contact me ASAP with your ideas. I do not want to zoom again. Worst scenario, we punt for a week, but still need an alternate location.

Tom’s e-mail – Cobr427a@aol.com

When I hear more on Tom, I will pass along here. Any meeting updates will be on this thread from me as well.

And while you are at it, order two, try to retro-fit the Z-Bar bushings as well, as that is another wear/abrasion area.

Fact. Both my 1968 and 1969 had the bushings fail, and the holes elongate, resulting in strange clutch pedal motion.

Replaced it on my 1968  many, many years ago, and modified the '69 to use roller bearings on the clutch, gave it a very smooth action. Hidden upgrade well worth the work.

Just a reminder, we are looking forwards to finally seeing each other again! I'll be sending out meeting agenda to club members, but all and anyone are invited.

Pizza, smiles, Shelby's.

Thank you for the kind words Charlie! I was one of the event organizers, Set up and was in charge of the track day at Pocono, co-chaired the Poker run, and helped with anything else. As you said, the weekend was great. And all from SAAC were invited, they did miss a TON of track time, genuine Shelby Camaraderie, and fun.

Yes, we'd truly like more from this side of the road to join us in the future.

GT - You did just identify a very common error made with 68-70's - Voltage. To properly test, the car needs to be either running or on a battery charger. Otherwise, it will be slow and dim.

Now have some fun and drive!

Vintage Trans Am cars will also be running this weekend.

      Roy

I saw somewhere that ESPN Commentator Mike Joy runs a Vintage T/A car?

Just need a flashed that holds longer, or a quicker sequencer.

Should be a bulb for Bulb replacement.

Upgrade the flasher to a slower one, such as the ones sold, or try an EL-12 relay style flasher

Cal,

Your trailer & car will be one of many at the track. The track is usually very secure, and they have thier own staff to patrol and man the gates. It's very rare there is ever a problem at this or any large marque gathering, as we are all looking out for each other. I have left mine at many, never an issue.

Best advice? The track is good and safe, relax, enjoy the weekend. It's your first, you will overload on all things Shelby, Mustang, Racing. Have a cold beverage and enjoy!

When i went through a similar situation on my 69, I also changed the clip, but also added very thin washers/spring washers to insulate the clip from moving parts, and to tighten up the linkage.
