They have so much incorrect information all the time.

When the Ford GTX crossed the block they state there were 110 built but I believe the correct # built was around 32.

I guess they live by the motto "If you can't dazzle them with brilliance then baffle them with bullshit".  ;D

The Lounge / Re: Question about Ford Service Parts Punch Card
« on: January 22, 2019, 12:02:05 AM »
From what I recall Vincent Liska had mine.  I was inquiring about other documents that SAAC had for my car and he told me that they had my IBM punch car.  Vincent asked me if i was interested in acquiring it and I replied with a resounding "HELL YA!".

So ya, that's how I wound up with mine.

Here's the IBM punch card for for my 68 GT500 Convertible.  Its part of my Shelby book and a great part of the original documentation that I have.  Front and back sides of the card.  I've blocked out my serial number with the original "Johnny Bolton Ford" dealership emblem.

Someone in authority needs to make a judgement on that.
That's pretty much what I was driving at.  I figured Pete might be one person who could make that judgement without being swayed by the almighty dollar.

I can here the crying now...if Craig said he was going to restore it to be the 1968  version of the car
No crying from me.  I just value your opinion.  I would rather hear from you on how it should be restored rather than from Craig Jackson.  He's a "used car salesman" through and though.  Yes he has a passion for Shelby's but he would tell you anything to pump up the value of what is in his possession.

I would rather hear the opinion/truth from an enthusiast first and a salesman second. The enthusiast, who happens to have an excess of knowledge, will tell you as it is.   The salesman will just sugar coat it.

I thought QSS meant "Little Red" as he quoted you on.
Yes I was talking about "little Red".  I realize that Pete was involved in the Green Hornet restoration so I had full confidence that car was restored faithfully to what is deemed "historically correct".

I have spoken to both Jason and Craig, I would put my money on the 1967 version with at least one supercharger.

 ;D
So Pete, with all your expertise in many things Shelby, do you think that is a faithful, historical restoration?

Were did you get it?  I've been looking for a 68 press kit for years.  I really want one.

"I'm out" due to the fact that there is no manual and that silly little rotary shift wheel on the center console.  Paddle shift is fine but you gotta have an optional stick for the purists.  Isn't the target market for the GT500 the 45 year old and up demographic who has the money to spend on this type of car?  The majority in that demographic would like to row through the gears on a stick.  Am I wrong?

What am I missing?

My daughter is 18 and when she was younger she saw dad driving a MT so she was always bugging me to teach her to drive one.  When she was 15 and working on getting her drivers licence I took her out a ton of times in my 2007 Shelby GT-H 5 spd stick and she had the experience of driving a MT (man those were herky, jerky drives with lots of stalls).  She now owns a little Suzuki with a MT.  She drivers herself everywhere and for me, it's awesome.
Guess I raised my daughter well.

1968 Shelby GT350/500/500KR / Re: 1968 build sheets
« on: January 10, 2019, 08:50:08 PM »
I just went through the steps and it says he's only offering the Build Sheet for Mustangs, Cougars and a few other Ford, Lincoln and Mercury Passenger cars.

You can't get one for a Shelby yet.

1968 Shelby GT350/500/500KR / Re: 1968 build sheets

I have my original build sheet which I personalty removed from my car #1394 in February, 2008 and it was in near perfect condition.  That was an awesome experience.

Would like to add a reproduction copy to my documents book too.  That would be cool.

That's right..... second fiddle.

I am simply stating fact.  You pale in comparison to "the most renowned Shelby authorities in the world'" that actually reside and contribute to this site.

That's the last response that I have to you and your alleged "contributions".
