1968 Shelby GT350/500/500KR / Re: RUG-S TOP LOADER 4 SPEED
« on: March 02, 2018, 12:50:26 PM »
Is the RUG S also used in the 68.5 CJ Mustangs along with the Shelby's or just the Shelby's? Thanks.
not sure about 135s but regular production cjs got RUG AE and very late cars could have AE 1. For the original post like I stated in first reply, tail shaft for 68 RUG S could be either C6 or C7. On main cases 67 cars would have C5 and 68 would have C8.
Another little known factoid, C7 tail shaft can be either small or big output with same casting number. Big out machined differently

Since you are in 68 I'll assume its a 68 RUG S, is it early or late?  Most will be the C7

. I'd like to see what Tim is making.
Authentic R model/drag car SA headers. Making them better isn't important. Making them accurate is

Buy one what? Battery ,Battery topper? You left your question open ended. Consequently it is hard to answer.

Thanks for sharing. First time I've seen that picture. Think I might have a guess about which car it might be but not ready to post it at this moment

Thanks again

Any news Jeff? Number car?
Jeff, can you post that other picture that we have of the car and see if it looks the same ? Everything lines up. Early 66 white 10 spokes and the manufacturers plate. Certainly goes with it
Too bad we canít see under the hood or interior

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / R model/drag headers
« on: February 22, 2018, 07:47:02 PM »
I am having some R model headers made and they will be as accurate as we possibly can get them.  My hunch is they will be not discernible from original.  We are using an original set as a pattern and have one of the top custom header manufacturers in the country doing them.
If anyone is interested please contact me as the more we have made the better the price will be. Please do not ask me at this point what they will cost as I donít know but just contact me to say that youíre interested and I will get a price based on the projected number.  Email me directly at  Restore@TimLea.com

Crush ribs at front suggest later 66 frame (not 65 or early 66)

Correct no neutral safety switch but BU light harness needs to be plugged in to complete circuit   You can bypas tilt away by unplugging 2 wire (both red w/ blue stripe) from vacuum solenoid and jumping the 2 wires on harness side

7M21. The same date housing that was in my brothers April 25th Mustang with 4.30s and my May 11th Torino GT with 3.91s.
never seen nodular casting between 7M and 8D. Iíve seen original 7M cases in June cars
