The Lounge / Steve McDonald's '66 GT350 cover of AACA
« on: February 03, 2022, 12:10:34 PM »
Just got my copy of AACA (Antique Automobile Club of America) bi-monthly magazine in the mail an on the cover and inside is featured SAAC's own Steve McDonald's '66 GT350.

There is also a couple feature articles in the Spring 2022 "The Shelby American" on the annual Hershey Fall event.

Congrat's Steve you certainly are the SAAC spokes' person getting your Real Shelby out and driven!

Any one know the car number for this Hemming Muscle Machines article and MACAN winner?  Article says it was completed at Shelby in mid-May.

Congrat's to the owner in Virginia !

This arrived in my mail box the other day. 180+ pages, heavy paper.

Seems to be a publication tied to the Audrain Collection in Rhode Island that Donald Osborne and Jay Leno are involved in.

I think a membership to another club is why it arrived in my box, seems they are looking for subscribers.

Also, there is a short topic about a international (automotive) image file source that is searchable by track, dates etc. that will probably be of interest to a few on this site ;-)

Shelby American History / Ken Miles Car Salesman remembrance...
« on: September 26, 2021, 08:30:50 PM »
Near me is an Island in Lake Erie, South Bass Island, that is were Admiral Perry defeated the British in 1812.  In the 50's they ran small-bore car races in the streets. They now hold vintage car races at the airport, a buddy of mine raced there this past week and did well.

At any rate, there is a book out on the races held in the '50's and in it an interview of a "reporter" that drove from California to Ohio to cover the races one year - yes really!  And he bought the car (a Nardi Fiat 600 - again really!) from a salesman at North Hollywood Motors - KEN MILES!  Here is the portion regarding the "test drive" given by Miles...

I'm sure none of you will be surprised ;-)

If so where is it located or can I get a copy, please.

(Did not find one on this site will look at Concours Mustang site next.)

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / '66 GT350 Motor Mounts?
« on: July 10, 2021, 10:37:21 AM »
Did a search here and on the Concours Mustang website but need better info and images, please.  I'm not very knowledgeable on '66 Shelby's and the owners' are afraid of getting eatin' alive on this forum.

Have two '66 GT350's that are asking about "correct" motor mounts. They were both made at San Jose in April of '66, one is a Hertz car in the 1800 Vin range (early April) the second, not a Hertz, in the 2000 Vin range (late April).

Would the auto and 4-spd use the same motor mounts?

Seems there was a change over from HiPo to LoPo motor mounts for all earlier in the '66 production - yes or no?

Can someone post correct images so we can verify if what they have is correct ?

Thanks for any help.

As the subject implies - a buddy is in need of a Holley S2MS 715 carb for '66 GT350, need a carb date code Jan of '66.  Realize these were done in batches and think there was a batch done in January of 1966 if we remember correctly.

(yes, been it touch with Craig C and he is looking too)

Please reply or PM,
Thanks
