I agree; the look, sound, and performance make it a fun car to drive. I also like the manual steering and smaller size compared to my 1967 GT-350.

... some dealers sell cars as correct and survivors' and have this mistake so clearly visible? Go to any car auction, Ebay, Hemmings, EVERYWHERE and you will most likely see examples of the same thing. Some deceive on purpose , some rely on others wrong info and still others don't know what they don't know. Sorry to ruin Christmas. ::)

You have to study the evidence. Which would mean that you look at it and take photos of the area with the paint off. Where are the holes located?
Of course there will be those who will state that, after fifty plus years, who is to say if the holes where not filled and re-drilled long ago. ...

Is it my understanding that I could not enter a car in division 2 with a color change. Or just gold?

Im trying to see where the backup wire Switch goes into the car for a 4 speed. In the Wiring assembly Manual it shows it going over the trans. Up to the firewall and going in somewhere in the middle. Is that correct? As noted in earlier post have aftermarket firewall so had to add a couple of holes that were not there. I thought there was a hole right by the shifter. Tony
