At what build number would they have gone to the full metal clamp rather than the wire clamp?

definately earlier than car 1502 for the pedestral type of clamps on radiator hoses.

im sure Jeff Speegle will be able to provide a closer car number or a vin number from other non Shelby cars for the transition from pedestral to wire type clamps on San Jose cars only.  ive got my own ideas but it is limited to a small number of cars

Here you go
This link was sent to me by someone on another mustang forum who was looking for parts for his restoration and asked my opinion;

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1965-1955-Shelby-Mustang-NOS-original-assembly-line-lower-control-arms-tie-rods/154393684436?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3D7c94b9c635234594ac1c5a6128604495%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26mehot%3Dnone%26sd%3D164533345445%26itm%3D154393684436%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057%26brand%3DMustang&_trksid=p2380057.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3Ad589f18a-90f0-11eb-ad9b-bedd6cb62b07%7Cparentrq%3A809525331780a1b7e89bd1d6ffcd01e8%7Ciid%3A1

WOW, REAL correct 65/66 lower control arms with the ultra rare C50A ball joint boots.  where did Marcus finds these ones???  Makes the NOS service part example look like junk, extremely well done and will most likely be snapped up by someone doing a throughbred restoration on there 65/66 shelby.

like to here comments from others, what do they think??

Your right Phil...totally absurd. And its buyers like that who make other sellers think their parts are worth their weight in gold. Just takes one person who is willing to spend what ever they want to get their prize.

It actually took 4 bidders to get this item this high and 2 over those bidders went head to above $200 to get to the final sale price.  WOW

anyone care to advise there opinion on nos examples versus repos.  sure there would be more mustangs/shelbys out there with repos than original or NOS examples.

Just want to ask the question;  am i the only person who watched this auction and thought what is going on here.......

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Rare-NOS-1965-66-67-Mustang-Shelby-Interior-Door-Lock-Knob-Set-C5AZ-6221850-A-/265088169337?_trksid=p2349526.m4383.l10137.c10&nordt=true&rt=nc&orig_cvip=true

seems like a absurdly high price for such an item, not critising the buyer or seller just want to understand the reasoning behind the final price.

I also believe this car was on ebay constantly for nearly 2 years at one stage.  it would receive bids and not meet the reserve then be relisted again and again.

maybe it was discussed in version 1 of this forum.

FAST FREDDY from Mustang Masters in renowned for deceptive and incorrect listings, even at swap meets he is still certain all his parts are correct and demand high prices.  buyer beware on all his listings is my only suggestions to anyone following.

BOB.

thanks for your reply.  im happy to be corrected if im wrong with my hoses. Since your reply ive been trying to find the images you sent me 3+ years ago when i bought a set of original heater hoses from you to compare my example to yours.  could there be a assembly plant difference through the years or maybe multiple suppliers??

The car i took the above pictured hoses from was a February 66 Mustang X San Jose assembly plant and without wanting to argue im rather confident the hoses where genuine to the car. I bought the heater box, plenum, defroster ducts and tubes and they where all original and in perfect condition.

i have some other hoses on hand from Dearborn 66 cars and a example from a December 64 San Jose car will attempt to dig them out and include on this post
