The Lounge / Rendezvous or Reckless ,it's classic now
« on: April 10, 2020, 06:13:06 PM »

Now would be a perfect time to recreate this in any capitol city across the world?

Watch and squirm as he runs through red lights

Just a little COVID19 distraction

Enjoy

The year 1966 is considered by some the final year of “purist” Shelby Mustangs. While no big-blocks were offered yet, every GT350 built was a sports car that could easily be amateur raced, and this car, SFM6S1063, is special in many ways. With a comprehensive restoration finished five years ago by John Brown of Thoroughbred Restorations, this car is believed to be the second of 33 non-Hertz car painted in Raven Black that year, a selection requested by buyers following the popularity of the Hertz rental-car program. Sold new by salesman and racing enthusiast Bill Kolb at White Plains Ford in White Plains, New York, the car is documented with an original handwritten sales receipt. Furthermore, it is noted to be the very first of a handful of 1966 Shelbys factory-equipped with the rare Detroit Locker rear axle according to the seller’s research. Paired with the detailed Shelby Hi-Po 289/306 HP engine with its solid-lifter cam design, 4-barrel carburetor and the optional BorgWarner T-10 4-speed manual transmission, it meant this Shelby was ready for action. As noted, the car was special-ordered in Raven Black, and it also had the Lemans-stripe package deleted, leaving only the Shelby GT350 lower-body rocker stripes. It has the trademark Plexiglas rear-quarter windows, fiberglass hood scoop, GT350-logo gas-filler cap and the GT350 plate on the rear decklid. The interior has the Shelby deluxe touches as well, like a wood-rim steering wheel, dash-mounted tach, bucket seats, black-knob floor shifter and Carroll Shelby’s signature on the glovebox. The 14x6-inch Magnum 500 wheels are magnesium gray and feature Shelby center caps, with the wheels wearing Goodyear Blue Streak rubber. With a known ownership history, this Raven Black beauty has been featured in multiple magazines and is from the collection of Mustang specialist Jim Wicks. Presenting a stellar but uncommon appearance for any 1966 example complete with a driveline ordered as strictly business, this Shelby GT350 is a rare piece of Shelby history.

Don't see an open carry like this to often, especially in OZ, Shelbys and Bosses  heading across the Nullarbor
