Has anyone heard anything from him yet?

Also, even though the block is as a standard block, it could be more valuable if he finds a stamped vin number.  Someone with that car may pay for the original block/motor. 

Sounds to me like you have some pressure.  Did you check the gauge?  Or the line to the gauge? Disconnect and it should squirt oil if there is any amount of pressure.  If you have a little pressure, you should have an amount similar to when you removed the pan.

Any vin stampings?  I had a pair and they turned out to be from a rare Cougar.  I had to really look hard for the faint numbers. 

Fire extinguisher is missing from the wall....story in itself?  Cool collection.  How many 100's (1000's) more are out there?
