So, would you prefer to own it as-is (after a washing) or restore it.  I would get it running an leave it as is...

Looks like some neat posters (nostalgic) and racing memorabilia on the walls...nice find.  You should try to get these as well!  Good luck,
Jack

I believe the block is machine matched to the caps, but this can be done to any block.  Same blocks.

Would everybody be more content knowing that the car was parted out and scrapped as an alternative?  My guess is that this crowd would rather see this car on the street again someday.  Doesn't matter if it's a full rebody, or a Dynacorn hybrid, Or repaired from an OEM donor, as long as it is presented down the road as such, it's fine with me.  I don't see enough of these cars out and about, so crusher is not an option in my opinion.

My bank wants 24 hours to 'order the cash in' for the branch over $10K.

How do the car show guys have wads of cash, unless they have been saving it up?

Basically, yes.  They do a lot of transactions in cash that they bank themselves (as in a safe at home).  That works well if you don't need the money in your daily cash flow.  It is getting more difficult to deal in cash, and will continue to get harder.  I've had dealings at swap meets with gents who have a briefcase with $50K plus.  We were at a swap last weekend with approximately 3000 vendors.  I asked one of my buddies how much cash was on the grounds....our guess was millions.....

As for cash deposits and withdrawals, check out  the Bank Secrecy Act for accurate information...

Some people do not follow car values like some don't follow stocks, RE, coins, etc.  Also, some are not motivated to sell.  I've been after a 69 GT 500 in a barn (yes, really) for 25 years an have offered fair money.  The car's value is past it's peak and is now depreciating as it continues to deteriorate.  Some day, they will decide to sell, but they will end up with less money in the pocket, and for what?  Plus, they would have more hay storage area...

The cars did have hoods, but they were not "production" hoods. They were simply used to keep water out during transport.
That's interesting Pete..so what did these non-production hoods look like, and are there any around?

Great looking car with a "tough guy" look.  I think the interior has more character than most race cars.  Would be fun to show and drive!
