Up For Auction / Re: Super Snake at Mecum in January

They sure gave it time to work up the price but I guess for that type of car it is expected to try to milk it.

A friend is selling off his collection at Mecum today, what do you guys think of this rare piece?

I was gonna ask if your friend has any relation to the famous Randall "Memphis" Raines but then I noticed the difference in spelling  :)

Very cool!
I saw the window sticker and said "gotta be NJ!"

I recently did similar to what Bill suggested (prior to seeing his post) on a Boxster and it made the lights look much better.
It was my first attempt at doing this.

MU has offered free shipping for a long time.  Were/are they considered little?

I'm still curious why MU closed their GA location.
I'm having a 67 FB worked on and the restorer sent me a text yesterday and said he'd go to MU for me to get full Dynacorn quarters to save me some truck freight shipping.
I told him it's a long trip to CT!

Being in GA MU was usually my go to and I’ve always had good experiences
It was nice knowing if I ordered a part it was going to arrive next day most
of the times.
I grew up in NY so they were convenient to me then also
I wonder if they kept shipping from GA till parts were depleted.
I was told they closed the doors end of Nov
I was overall more concerned about our hobby and concerned
a big long time distributor closed one of their 2 locations

Heard today that they closed the GA location end of Nov.
Interesting.
I know some are not fans but for some who live in GA it was convenient when you need a part quick.

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Re: 1967 Shelby Banners
« on: December 06, 2018, 03:19:47 PM »
There were only 5 made where the spacing between the GT350 and GT500 was 1 inch.
There was only 1 made where the spacing is 1.25 inch.
This banner is that one.

Very cool banner  :)

This car in the OP has been for sale for awhile I'm pretty sure.  I think the price was a tad higher originally.
not surprised the price has come down.

Was this a rusted rear section rebuild with a Cal Special donor rear end (seen next to damaged car, notice paint color) used and subsequent failure test drive manuever?

Good eye and question

Was the car in part primer or was there a "pinto" type fire from the collision?

The Lounge / Re: Garage Heating Ideas
« on: November 15, 2018, 10:01:43 AM »
In my small shop which I try to work in when it's too hot or too cold in the big shop I have central heat blown in from up above.
However, if I have to work in the big shop and it's cold sometimes I run a propane tank with the 3 round circle burners mounted on top.
My big bld is 2000sqft and 16' ceilings.  I assume it's important to keep one of the doors cracked with outside air and not paint
around the heater.
Any other safety tips?

Thanks
