Ah, HA-HA-HA.    I know one of the top ten HAS to be the one in my garage.  67, early model, white, inboards, 4 speed.

Howabout just "borrowing" the piece you need out of the 120 MPH speedo.

I think we forgot that the 67  Shelby has four headlights, the Mustang two.  So, the Cougar headlight switch should be used as the Cougars had four headlights.

Bob G described some aluminum wash that knocked the "chrome-like" brilliance down in a post a few years back.  I do not recall the exact name.

Check out the air venting on the tail light end of the quarter panel.

I hope when I'm 98 year old I can still have the urge to twist the key on #0036.  I'm not the youngest purchaser as I bought it in 1971 when I was 3 weeks shy of my 19th birthday, but I imagine I'm in the top 25.

Thats OK.  Wait until you try and fit the tailpipes over the rear axle, past the gas tank, and try to not have it rattle or be too close to anything like the axle vent line and the rear brake hose.  That too is a pistol.

Good information if you have a 65/66 car.  Are the diamentions the same for the 67/68's and the 69/70'S?
A more exacting placement for the Porta-power is wanted.  Do you put it right on plane with the upper control arm mounting, or somewher higher, or lower?
 Thanks

You have to study the evidence.  Which would mean that you look at it and take photos of the area with the paint off.  Where are the holes located?
Of course there will be those who will state that, after fifty plus years, who is to say if the holes where not filled and re-drilled long ago.   If you are lucky, somebody at S/A drilled all the way through if you have one of the cars with the metal underlined hood.  Few cars are like that.  Seems there are a few outlyers in this.  The judges need to understand this.

69/70's....Good looking cars.  I'm glad they put the GT350/GT500 forward of the fender side scoop.   Looks better.
And yes, a 69/70 GT500 with a 428 should have carried the "KR" moniker.

Just another possibility:  Somebody cut in a hidden ignition shut off/ground switch.

The first time SAAC was at the Brickyard, I recall somebody in front of me with a camera filming our group going down the back straight.  I asked back then if anybody had some film to share in a Snakebite bulletin.  Alas, no reply.

I was there too with my 67 GT 350.  Checked all my photos, but, sorry, none with your car in it.

But, I'll tell you.  Mid day after lunch, a Dodge mini-van showed up in the show parking lot.  The van had "official vehicle Indy 500" decals on it.  And out pops Carroll Shelby.  He instantly got mobbed.
The show officials had Carroll sit under a tent, and he signed autographs for about an hour and a half.  Then Carroll stands up and says "lets go sign some cars".  And off he went, car to car.  Was a great day to be there.
