A couple of #0036.  Both at the Brickyard, roughly five years apart.

Just defining the request:  You mean that the tail light mounting area is raised slightly, and then with no sealing lip along the trunk opening  metal.  I think.

are they still in the mailing process?  It's now 1-6-19 and I have not received mine.  Who do I contact?   Thanks   Mk

A few years back I went and asked at the local post office (Lansing Illinois).  The clerk told me the Chicago post central office for "periodicals" was the Aurora IL post office.  So, I wrote a nasty letter the the postmaster there.  I kind of threatened to report this the my senator.  Durbin is the Senator's name.  They come a little sooner since.

Paper tags were/ are used on all rear axle assemblies. I just pulled an 8.8 from a 2002 Ford Ranger and there is a paper tag on it!

One comment regarding the BP detailing article , IMHO ( only) too much time/ care was used in reproducing the numbers painted and "crayoned" onto the housing. One has to remember this was an assembly line , NOT art class. "Some" were nicer looking than others and none were "perfect". Reasonable care was used during the builds but a concours judge was not present supervising the work ( so to speak) done "in the day".  Exact duplication should be avoided.
    Just My Personal Opinion.

Most Shelbys got the trunk light - If they had the metal underlined trunk lid (some did not), and it is not exactly a "door speaker grill".  You only got speakers behind the grill if your car came with the tape deck.  Not many or any 67 Shelbys did.

  JD, thanks for the fix

Yeah well what else do you call it?

Right now it is about the third row down.

This was filmed at the Autobahn Country Club back in very early October (not by me).  They caught me as I was loading the trailer.  So Why not?  The event was the Chicago Vintage Mustang clubs annual show...which includes a few parade laps.  I did those too.
P/S: That Autobahn logo looks very much like a Cobra to me for you folks slugging it out in the Shelby American eagle eye contest.

Well go firgure.  I have a 390 GTA coupe that the motor locked up on back in 1979.  The Oklahoma car has been sitting since.  A couple of years ago I took off both exhaust manifolds, sand blasted them...only to find both had stress cracks about smack in the center.

And DO REPORT to the registrar who you sold the car to in order to keep accurate records of your now former Shelby in the registry.

Well, we know the "correct" color is natural (for the early cars) but I'm not going to walk down that alley.  In short, for all that coding above is:  The spoke paint for the 65/67 Ford styled steel wheels.

I think Car and Driver magazine summed it up many years back:  A stick of dynamite on the left manifold.

It depends.  Go to the thread labeled "center headlight brackets" and study the photos Bob G posted.  Seems they used self tapping screws (although the heads are not shown) and also bolts with washers and nuts (again, the heads are not shown)  Likely this is another example of needing to know your cars' assembly date at Shelby American.

I recall that Lil' Red had "custom leather upholstery".  So far, there have been no photos discovered from that time period.  The newly discovered Lil'red had the standard 67 deluxe rear seat in it.  (Seen at the November MCACN show.)
