Up For Auction / Re: 1969 Shelby GT350 in Phoenix, Az.

The FMX trans was a real pos in regards to performance transmissions. They made millions of them for many applications back in the day but they were very heavy compared to a c 4 trans so most performance transmissions were built c4s for small block cars. Ford made a small block c6 that came out I believe in 70 or 71, a great transmission back in the day that had many upgrades that could be had, like custom valve bodies, shift programs, converters etc. Then there was the BEEFY c6 for big block applications which is a tuff hombre but very heavy. Most racers use a modified c4 that can easily handle over 1000 HP these days. Times have sure changed.

Your mechanic might be a little confused, you need to run head gaskets which ones of what thickness will require a little math to calculate whats best for your application in the future. what he may be thinking is that you can machine the cylinder head exhaust flange and exhaust manifold sealing surfaces to run without gaskets but not head gaskets! Keep us up to date on your fix.

NewShelby- I will try to help with your dilemma, if you ask 10 people a question you will get 10 different answers. In situations like this one has to work backwards from the given problem. For starters why did the engine start to come unglued... An over zealous right foot, or your components were not up to the task, or an inferior build that had mechanical interference problems, you need answers to those questions. Going forward since you asked what percentage of HP will you get, it appears you are looking for an upgrade there. For a simple answer you need a great machinist, and a good mechanic to help with your build. Don't skimp on the dollars here or you will be very unhappy, purchase to best components you can afford and the rest will all fall into place with your pride and joy. Good Luck with this journey.

A couple of years ago some of my BUDS were racing their car at a local track and caught a guy SLIPPIN in their race hauler. The perpetrator must have felt he needed some goodies out of their trailer more then my buddy needed them. What happened next was not a very good thing for this so called low life and probably wished he was dead because of what happened to him. The races concluded everyone drove off and the low life was still napping in the pits,  they got his I D so they know who he was not a word was said, so justice had been served. Similar things at all venues, you never know how unhappy someone might get when someone makes a wrong entrance into their trailer, or shop. I have seen many a trailer running the NOTHING IN THIS TRAILER IS WORTH YOUR LIFE sticker. I think most of us feel the same way, just how it is handled varies a bit.  >:(

After installing what appears to have been the STANDARD type seat belt bolts I found some DIFFERENT type seat belt bolts in the boxes of stuff and found what appears to be gold iridate bolts with a 6 point interior of the head bolt and round exterior of the bolts. Correct or not?

That's the down side of a corrupt entity. If people think, what would I pay for something like that? It would be closer to my original estimate of selling price. You never know what they are thinking but most likely stir up a lot of HOOPLA and set a price for a later sale...

James- We are all here to help each other out and I too could not make heads or tails of what you initially were saying. From what it sounds like is someone lifted your info or pictures for their personal add and to promote their vehicle with pictures of your car. We have the secret SHELBY POLICE , they are everywhere, and can sniff out a problem where ever it might be. We shall see how this shakes out... Best of luck!

Possibly a Dagenham 4 speed shifter, light duty 6 banger trans. :-\

That shift pattern would explain what it came off of. What transmissions had reverse up and to the left? No ford 4 speeds that come to my mind.
