Bob.
The nipple on the air cleaner base for PCV connection seems a bit strange to me.
It is above the carburetors instead of below like most other cars.
Should the nipple be blocked and the hose connected to the intake manifold instead.

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / 67 Shelby GT500 Air Cleaner
« on: March 31, 2020, 04:58:08 PM »
Hi guys,
My 67 Shelby GT500, 67402F7A01317 was ready at San Jose on Jan 31, 1967.
As I have understood it, the engine (428 8V) was installed by Ford. That includes the COBRA
air cleaner and my question is:
Which type of air cleaner shall my car have?
Bottom as well as top lids?

SAAC Forum Discussion Area / Re: Why become a SAAC member?

Please become a member. I was 29 years old when I became a member in 1977 and I am 72 now and still a
member. Over all these years I have never regretted my renewal and as long as I am alive will continue
to renew my membership. Everybody I know in the club have been very helpful and as the saying goes, treat others
the way you like to be treated and you will be happy.
Good luck with your hunt for a 66.

Hi there,
The schematic is wrong in the Jim Osborn wiring diagram. I found that out when restoring my car
over 25 years ago. Don't remember how I solved it though. Just remember it was pretty simple and straight forward.

My car, # 1317 was a 402F package, i.e. 4_speed with Thermactor.
I may be looking for a correct 428 and RUG-S 4-speed as my car has a 289 HiPo
with a HEH-BX transmission in it now.

Thanks guys,
You are the best. My 67, #1317 was scheduled and built the same day at San Jose on January 31, 1967.
What cast and assembly date code ranges would the engine need.

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / 67 GT500 4-Speed Tag
« on: March 16, 2020, 11:09:33 AM »
Good morning guys,
Hope you are doing fine.
Have a question:
Can any of you tell me what a typical 4-Speed transmission
ID tag says or better yet a picture.
RUG? what letter(s) after the RUG
My car was assembled at San Jose in the end of January 1967
which means the trans was assembled sometime in Nov-Dec 1966.
Thanks for your help.
