Those look great!  What size Avon's did you go with front and back?

The copied ad says car #077 and engine #088. So is the engine in this car belong to the one in the Mecum auction you mentioned?  Or were engines possibly swapped during build(don't know if engines were pulled at SA). Gary

i don't understand your comment ?  the picture of Ford vin on the block is matching the  Ford vin  for 077 , so no mix here ...original block maybe ...

I think he's referring to this in the original post:
Engine no.
5R09K/S088/

Likely someone's interpretation of the images (#293,294) with the block stamping.  Do those look like typical stamped 1s?  Were they that distinctly deep and wide?

I did really like this comment:

"Shelby experts are like the deep state, they will bite back and you wont know what hit you...along with the declining value of your car. Best not to get snippy with them."

Not the comparison about deep state.  I just appreciate your expertise and know not to argue :)

I wonder what CDs Ken Miles liked listening to on the way to the track.

Cool vehicle.

Really?  At that time, there weren't CDs.

Sorry for lack of context... you have to click through to the auction site photos to clearly see it is fitted with a modern CD player deck.  Just seemed an odd choice considering everything else tries to look period correct.  I do like the vehicle.  If I had unlimited space...

Dip coated the pedals yesterday as part of refurbishing and installing a correct/original 67 pedal set.  Video came out nice.

Congratulations on the sale Vern!

I also wanted to say thank you for spending the time to so thoroughly document it with pictures and share.  Great reference material as I slowly work on mine.

So sorry to hear this.  I'm also relatively new here and quickly learned Jim was someone always willing to help.  Most phone calls were short, but particularly enjoyed the few times I happened to catch him when he felt like talking longer.  Thanks for all your help, Jim.  Rest In Peace.

Is low gloss black the same as satin black ?

Sorry.  I shouldn't have confused with a term like that.  I meant flat or semi flat.  If I were painting mine again, I would choose flat because that seems to be what is on there.  When I see satin or higher gloss I tend to think tribute car.

Any general consensus out there what it should be?  I don't claim to be an expert here, was trying to help by sharing the info already posted.

Hi Simon,

I've never seen someone post a paint code for under fiberglass hood black, but here is another thread with good information for you.  You should also try searching at concoursmustang.com.  Generally low gloss black.  I would say stay away from a heavy coat of high gloss black.  Light spray of low gloss seems to be typical and some were left unpainted.  Some good examples of typical overspray in these as well.

Replicas and Tribute / Re: New clone

Oh cool.  I saw that one when it was in the Tupelo Auto Museum.  Didn't know it was a clone.

Enjoyed the Facebook thread.  Terlingua Bronco II was Funny.  Really liked seeing the 15-17 Terlinguas with the wide body package.  Didn't realize they ever did that and look awesome.

Thanks, John

Double check compatibility with your brake warning light connector before you buy.  There is both a single pin and double pin connector version.  Single pin was on my 67 GT350 and are harder to find.  JD at All Classic Motors has a few and one advertised here on ebay right now.
