I'm in Chicagoland and there is a Concours D'Elegance in Geneva Illinois around August sometime. If I find the link I will amend this post to attach it.

The Lounge / Geico's version of a Boss Mustang
« on: February 18, 2018, 12:06:33 PM »
Geico's copywriters apparently can't properly identify a Boss Mustang. Makes one wonder how Geico would handle a collector car claim should one decide to use them as their carrier to insure a "Boss" Mustang.

The car does have an interesting story line to it and am lucky enough to bring it back to its glory days. This car embodies the 1960s early 70s burn your draft cards burn your bras. lets go party, race, get in trouble, drive fast , have fun and rebel against the machine. It was a sign of the times and what everyone was doin at the time , even the music at the time was in favor of these activities. So to relive some of these memories many of us choose cars of this era and music to go along with it. WHAT A LONG STRANGE TRIP ITS BEEN! ;)

All that pales by comparison to owning the latest iPhone, right. I can see it now as the aged Millennial tells his grandkids about how he owned the best iPhone in the neighborhood and how he could text faster than anyone else. And that is how he won over your grand ma ma.

If you have a flat tappet cam, it better have Zn[S2P(OR)2]2 or zinc dialkyldithiophosphates, also known as ZDDP.    I use Valvoline Racing 20/50 Motor Oil.

Do not use a synthetic or a blend with a flat tappet cam.   If you do, get it out now.   If the engine has a roller cam and rocker (both), the synthetic is fine.

Best of luck

Roller on all accounts, but good information to know.  Thank you very much!

I personally use a synthetic blend of Motorcraft 10W30.  I presently have a 302 roller rocker in the old gal made to look vintage while the original 289 slumbers in my closet.  Yes, my closet.  I mean hey, even Chopin had his heart cut out and preserved in a jar of brandy and kept in the wall of a church (to this day) so why not a 289 engine which in essence is the heart of an automobile.

Contract law:

The general rule of contract law:  All ambiguities are construed against the drafter of the instrument.

Outcome:  If the court chooses to follow this maxim, then Ford loses.

Competing rule of contract law:  If there are ambiguities, some courts will disregard the parol evidence (a rule that excludes evidence of details before final contract formation) and allow extrinsic evidence in to show the intent of the parties though it was not reduced to a writing.  In essence, the court will look outside the four corners of the contract and allow extrinsic evidence in to determine the intent of the parties.

Outcome: Ford may win.

Damages: Court may award Ford compensatory damages depending on how the complaint is drafted.  And therefore may get the profit from the sale.

Cena can assert the affirmative defense that the language is boilerplate and therefore will not be given force and effect and further that it interferes with the freedom to contract.

Disloyal. Ford is not only a brand, they are a living, breathing family. If I promised Ford not to flip the car for two years I would not flip it. Besides, I'd rather live in a cardboard box than flip that car anyway.

Huge fan of the R models.  Crude, lethal, obnoxious and beautiful.

Kissed the wife, hugged the Shelby.  All is good.
The order is wrong.
Hugged the wife and kissed the Shelby?
Without question.

I've never seen one with pins and I have seen quite a few.  But that does not discount aberrations from the factory.

All great advice gentlemen.  I plan to try the rinseless car wash and see how that goes.  When the snow disappears.  Thank you all!
