That time of year again.  I will still start her from time to time over the winter to keep the fluids going through the veins.

"You care more about that car than you care about me."  'sniffle...sniffle...'

Me: Yeah and?

Quit yur bitchin, the rest of you.  I shot this pix the other day, in West L.A., adjacent to Beverly Hills.

Can't be.  That must be CGI.  Wow!

"And that was a 427 Vette and a Cobra I just lapped."  Ka boom!  The Shelby Mustangs were incredible underdogs.

I bought this book and read it.  I can recommend it A plus.

Speaking of high prices, we were at the grocery this week-end and I just happened to see the sign over the customer service counter...Marlboros $7.95/pack!  Wow! 40 cents a smoke...So glad I gave 'em up 40 years ago.

Never smoked, and cannot imagine it.

Nor I.  Wasn't even tempted.  I do remember pop-eye candy cigarettes they used to sell in Toronto.  They were tasty but it never got me in to the actual habit.  Don't know if they were a thing here in the US back in the 60s 70s.

Here is a video I just converted from VHS to digital and then uploaded it to Youtube for your viewing pleasure.  :-)  This came from the collection of the late Hans Pedersen and from Rick Kopec before Hans.

Walt answers a list of questions and responds to what is going on in the film.  This is an amazing interview and probably one of the most authentic I have seen.  The film itself is amazing.  The quality is not perfect, but what is here makes up for the imperfections.   When have we seen 5R099 before & after it crashed?  Great footage here.

Link to the video: https://youtu.be/EZ7CLJ6IJ-E

Enjoy.
Watching now and gave you a thumbs up on the YouTube.  Thank you for sharing.  Of note:  Cat walking across the hood and door edge, people sittin' on the fender.  Try that today with these cars. Lol!

Not tucked.  See photo below lifted from the blue Hertz now for sale on BaT.  And from all reasonable inferences drawn therefrom, I suspect the Ford factory was hurried to get these cars out the door and to market, therefore any effort to tuck the cap under the material would be lost time in the assembly process multiplied times a million which would not be tolerated.  Besides, it looks like it was made to go over the material, not under, just by virtue of the design.

"If you don't get rid of that G. Damned Boss 302, you get the rolling pin!  And we're through!  It's over!"

Me:  "Buh-bye.  I'm going for a drive in the Boss...and you better not be here when I get back."

Luckily, I haven't had the pleasure of such a scintillating and productive conversation, but if I did, this is definitely how it would go down.  I live alone (daughter in the basement excepted) and I don't need to worry about such conversations anymore.  Ever.

I never understood the drive to interfere with one's passions in life.  Why the need to take it away?  Perhaps it is a control thing.  The Scandinavian in me resists such control.

Been somewhat out of the news loop and just recently learned of the crash in Las Vegas.  Very hair raising.  Don't know how the Corvette driver was able to survive a 127 mph crash.  A disaster all around, however, a testament to GM safety design.  Maybe she (in the RAV 4) would have survived too if she was able to have been extricated from the vehicle.  This is why I never drink and very rarely speed.  That said, you just never know when it is your time.  You can't stop someone from rear ending you while at a stop.  One can exercise all the safety precautions and still get summoned to the beyond.
