This was my garage for a brief time.

White top date of birth 5/7/68

Black Top 5/14/68

Interesting difference in the stance height between the two... wished my garage looked that good anytime !

Power steering control valve

Or maybe a bad idler arm?  I've heard that the P/S control valve can cause these types of issues, but never that it is an adjustments vs replacement solution.

Just a suggestion... you need pics of all this stuff attached to these ads. Good luck !

Can anyone tell me how this is to attend?  It's always been on my bucket list, but I've always have to work or something.  Is it really the end all for parts?  Looking for early inner quarter panels for the fastback latch area on my '67.  Is this where I need to go to find something like that?
Its a fun event... bring your best walking shoes. a rain slicker and a pile of cash:) everybody thinks they're the only one holding a specific part . Good luck finding a hotel room at this point though. Friday and Sat am are best shopping days.
Good luck

Ford Carlisle is always the first weekend in June.

Because that's the June w-end that has all the rain :)

Not sure a millimeter difference in thickness could make any difference in the installation quality between the two gaskets mentioned. And wonder how much better a 40/50 year old , dried out NOS gasket would be over a good quality repro. And I would think that folks here would pipe up with their own personal experiences with the aftermarket glass and gaskets, brands used, install techniques, etc.

Thanks Bob !  I thought I had read that somewhere at some point. Sounds logical.

Old and a bit pissy thread form the past.... BUT ,,, is one suppose to unzip the rear glass prior to raising and lowering the convertible top? And no, I didn't bother to check my owners manual... just wondering.

"PS have you cleaned out the fuel tank really good yet ?  If not, the filter will likely  get plugged up again.  Filters should be replaced, not just blown thru".

What he said.  As soon as you start driving in a "spirited manner", sediment from the bottom of the tank will get suspended in the gas and will clog the filter again.  Best to drain or siphon off the gas in the tank and get the crud out.

+1- in fact , I would pull the tank, pressure wash it inside thoroughly and add a hidden , replaceable in-line filter ahead of the carb filter. And I always run some fuel system cleaner during the season. Glad you're getting it sorted out !

Valvoline 20/50 Racing Oil for 28 years.  Have not had any engine problems.  Change oil and filter once a year.

+1..

It was due for sure :) Time for some TLC.. and I'll bet getting it in and out will not "makes me feel 21 again". :) Years ago I welded up a little brace that fit in my floor jack saddle... worked well and kept them balanced . Good luck !

Thanks guys ! Much appreciated. It defiantly has the 3 fingered insert on the qrts, will check those strikers later to verify .

Need a little help... son bought a coupe to restore that had some work already done by PO. We recently discovered that the door tag is gone and the left apron bears a 5T vin code .... but he's holding a 6T title :(  I know the car had a both cowl panels replaced, new firewall, new floorpan and the outer A pillars were sectioned in with a short bit of the outer rockers.
I'm trying to find some other date codes in the body that will determine if this is a 65 or 66 car. There is no buck tag anywhere. I'm thinking someone may have grafted a 65 frt aprons and rails onto a 66 body. Need to locate some other stamped date codes to determine what year this thing started life as.
Thanks !  Steve
