If it was in Florida, the first thing I would do is contact FDLE (Florida Department of Law Enforcement) to do a VIN Search on the Car and look for the Hidden VIN.  He, as the owner, should get some Paint Striper and remove the Paint from the Top of the Inner Fender to see if in fact the Stamped VIN was cut off and a different one was welded in its place.

On a different note, we know SAI built non "K" Coupes for Racing in 65?, 66 & 67, did SAI ever build any non "K" Fastbacks for Racing in 65?

And look what popped up on marketplace, in the same city (LA). I'm not saying this is definitely the same engine / trans - but you do the math on production #'s and probabilities...

When asked, the seller of the motor gave up the VIN "81446" this morning.

I hate to break it to him, not sure I should.

Bill

Instead, notify the Local PD and let them break the news to him.

ALSO, incase you missed it in the latest issue of "MUSTANG TIMES", Registration for the Show will NOT be at the Track like it was last time.  They moved Registration to the "Outlet Shops of Grand River Mall" at 6200 Grand River BLVD. East in Leeds Alabama, about 4 Miles from the Track.

Wasn't that Red 68 Engineering Shelby with the Sunroof a "Give Away" car several Years back?  Dream Give Away, 2013,  Winner: W. Strickler of MI.

We are leaving Wednesday morning. Looking forward to event (just not the 1000-mile drive one way with the old truck and closed trailer).  ;D

I'm leaving Tallahassee on Thursday at 5am.  I will go to the Host Hotel, let them know I am there even though it will be to early to check in, then drive to the Track from the Hotel and then drive on to where we have to Register at the Strip Mall.  I hope they are allowing early Registration on Thursday.

If not mistaken, I believe they were all Orange.

Not sure if they were all built by Roush like this one though........

That Flat Top Screw looks a LOT like the Screw GM used on their Mid 70's Thru 80's Door Panels.  The are Short Screws (maybe 1/2") and worked great to Mounting the "Bond On" Hood Scoops on Cars that had the 1" Lip if you didn't want to Bond the Scoop onto the Hood.
