   Thanks Ron !
Great move. Maybe you could do that with the regions too. What goes on in Pa , NY , SD etc is important to the respective region but not to WA , OR , CA , AZ as we are too far away. Focus on the cars is what made this site THE place to go for information.
Rebuild the strength by going back to basics and leave the Martha Stewart cake stuff to the region or lounge areas. This is STILL the best site for REAL hardcore statistics , help , and information from THE most knowledgeable guys around. We can't afford to run them off because of some lounge lizards. ( no offense intended we all have our place)

OK as the OP here, let me 'splain how I saw this. The MURDER of a man by police is inexcusable NO question. The comment I posted is a stab at OUR society. We NEED to grieve over George's MURDER, BUT grieving isn't eliminated by going to Footlocker and break the glass to get that set(or four sets)of sneakers you always wanted. Same for clothes , food, liquor, Oxycotten , or whatever people chose to STEAL and FURTHER impart unwarranted grief on OTHER innocent people all brought on by George's murder. The post had NOTHING to do with guns , PERIOD. It is about US. Hell we can't even talk on a forum without insulting each other. My daily driver was broken into a couple weeks ago. My jacket with my wallet was one of the items stolen. Sure I'm mad. The police gave me a report number and said "good luck" we don't have the resources to investigate. While not as severe as murder , do "I" eliminate my grief by breaking into a Pharmacy or shoe store to eliminate "MY" grief??????? Do I buy M-80s and throw them or rocks and bottles at Police???
Don't spin this off onto guns. Having or not having them isn't pertinent to this thread.
Black people feel they are targeted by the Police and Hispanics are now saying the same thing. How SAFE is a white "person" going "uninvited" into a black or Hispanic neighborhood???? Is it odd that crime is higher in those areas than predominantly white neighborhoods??? Crime and murder is what causes the need for Police in the first place.
I didn't want to go political , I just wanted people to look inward.
I will not post any further on this thread.

Any one know this one ? looks back in the day ? ? rear fenders radiused (butchered !) side exhaust.

Mike

Mike IIRC  that was the suspension development "mule". The 15" Firestones and lack of HiPo badging are the giveaway "to me". That is for sure the Dearborn "proving grounds".

When a home intruder breaks into your house, your instinct and intention is to Kill, not maim or wound because then you will have a LOOONG road ahead of you in court that can drag on for many months, and you may not win!!! Yes, that's exactly right.

As my departed grandmother would say:  "dead men tell no tales"!, so aim, and make your shots count!        ::)

Make sure no one is filming you when your killing. That is what started this whole thing.

The Lounge / Went to the pharmacy today.......
June 02, 2020, 11:41:51 AM
Needed some aspirin. Couldn't get any because people overcome with grief broke into the store  to get relief for all their personal grief and STOLE it. Then because of their unsatisfied GRIEF they BURNED the building down. Man those people show have allot of grief. Some of those who STOLE got even more grief when the poleice stopped them after an hour long high speed chase. So much grief they run to get back home to grieve. Now they have grief in jail. Might be sick now because of no social distancing being practiced during the looting at the Pharmacy. Oh the grief just keeps a pilin' up.

The Lounge / Re: How stupid is this Corvette owner?

Another great informative post! That wouldn't be as bad if it was a Shelby. I think we should start a restoration thread Pete. Everybody knows how to fix sheet metal . We REALLY need to learn how to fix Corvettes on this site.

This is SOOOOOOOO refreshing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Because of the current plethora of non Shelby related posts I am magnetized to the computer now. I can't get enough. That Shelby stuff and keeping up with the latest information was BORING. Now I can get Sammy Hagar information , pictures of uncle Albert's Buick , Sal's Corvette , how to bake a cake , and more. I'm dumping all the other forums and fixating on this one. I want to get it ALL here , including the best timer setting for microwave popcorn.

Up For Auction / Re: Real Period NOS carb?
June 01, 2020, 01:14:22 PM
   Dan,
I agree with what you posted. My information came from the late Ray Wolfe (rip) who ended up with "most" of the unused SAI inventory . He had stacks of carburetors in "plain brown boxes" , no Holley logos , just a Holley part number label. I bought two 715's in these unopened boxes for $100 ea and about a thousand gasket kits in Ford packaging. The carbs were both dated 622 and had the big brass fitting for '66-67. I still have one of them today. All of the catalog pictures show what  you describe , not what I bought.

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / Re: motor mounts
June 01, 2020, 10:50:33 AM
Your car "should" have later "standard production" '66 mounts. They are one piece and easily inspected for cracks in the almost 3/4" thick rubber that bonds the upper and lower halves together. There are several "improved designs" but they are obvious if you are trying to keep it looking "stock" . They are not too difficult to replace. Jack stands and a floor jack are a must have.
The shudder you describe sounds more like a clutch/flywheel issue.

Yes , carburetors were furnished complete with fittings. "Later" over the counter service replacements were sold with the small (65) fitting and may be the reason for some confusion. Randy

Early multi piece or later one piece mount?
#1080
One period magazine article on the red '66 GT350 convertible he restored showed red paint in the tread grooves of the front tire ( pass side). Beautiful paint and body work though. That was in the day when many thought the under side should be black. Man we've come a long way.
