SAAC-47 / Re: Popular Ballot Car Show Thread

Been to a lot of SAAC meets but never participated in the Popular vote show.  Are the cars grouped by year or type?  Driving in from out of town that AM, will arrival at 9:00AM allow enough time to get in and park etc?

Wanted to Buy / WTB '67 Shelby Steering wheel
« on: March 02, 2022, 10:23:16 AM »
Need correct wheel for '67 Shelby.  Sounds like there are a couple types, looking for brushed center, short tabs.
Prefer a wheel not needing restoration.

I have a '66 EFFPI wheel in perfect condition to trade if intested.

PM me please.

The Cincinnati Concours Invitational is truly a class showing.
We were accepted by the Invitational committee for a factory werks car we have.
The Invitational is first class all the way and politics seemed to be non-existent.
A very enjoyable and welcoming group.
I would recommend that a person participate in the pre showing events, one was at the airport as I recall.
Against all odds with competition from Porsche, Mercedes, Corvettes, Lambo's etc, we managed a Blue Ribbon in the factory werks race class and a rather large 1st place crystal trophy in another class.

We would highly recommend anybody with a Shelby, Cobra or GT 40 to enter and participate.
Congrats to SFM5S159 for being a recruiter for the event !

Thank you for the kind words about our concours.
I am also a judge, and no, there aren't politics that I'm aware of anyway.  Just a sold group of people in the mid-west lucky enough to host a world-class event with some world-class automobiles.

I'm a recruiter for the show and I'll be showing my '67 GT500.
We can use cars.
I can provide info on how nominate your car for the show.

Thanks for the post.

Do you have a Marti Report for the car?  What is the Ford production date?

I've been attending collector car auctions for about 30 years (not as long as a lot of you I know...) and for maybe 25 of those years I walked away thinking "people are crazy, always over paying".
The it occurred to me that maybe I was looking at things incorrectly.  How was it that I was right about prices (they were always too high) and all of those buyers were wrong?
The market is what it is.  If after a long time period you think everything you look at is overpriced, it may be time to adjust your thinking.

If you are looking at spending $250k on a car just because you like it, you likely can afford another $20k.  Just spend the money and don't look back.

I use it to motivate myself to earn a little more.  I figure I can always make a little more money!

Just find one you like and buy it.
