Up For Auction / FS 48IDA Weber set up

That would make for a very good discussion. Will there be money in the room to buy it. I am assuming it will be a reserve car so no one is going to steal it. Will bring lots of Hype and hopefully bring some money to the auction. I remember when the Daytona Coupe was at Indy and how the room was electric with all the people and other Cobra's that were there. It was a very cool auction. I'm guessing this will have the same atmosphere..... however will it even go on with the 50 people event limits. If I was guessing the auction will be pushed back to later date. There may be someone looking to park their money in a car and not the market, so it could actually drive the price up? Great conversation starter as we are all working from home or locked in our basements.... 8)

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / Re: Going to Look at Car 889

This # 889, Oh, please paint the cat on the side again

Tony Conover would kick my #@ss if I did that.   :)

If you did them in removable vinyl letters you could have the best of both worlds. Won't hurt the paint and lets everyone know the history of the car. I like the 2 day look quite a bit. It does separate it from all the other Vin numbers-

Wanted to Buy / Early Maserati Fuel Banjo's & IDM carb linkage WTB
« on: January 24, 2020, 09:52:08 AM »
It's a long shot but I'm looking for 1956-63 Maserati Fuel Inlet Banjo's. Set of 4 or even just 1. Also looking for any linkage bits and pieces for the early opposed IDM set up. Image attached image of the Banjo's.

Thanks-
Jeff

I'm curious wether a "car enthusiast" ( collector ) bought it or a Steve McQueen collector bought it. I figure there are 2 different camps of individuals who would have ponied up that kind of money. Remember someone paid $17.8M for Paul Newman's Daytona Rolex.

You had your sights on an R back in 1982? Which one was it?
[/quote]

No, just a matter of speaking. What seems expensive today is sometimes not what it seems tomorrow. We would alway's see specific cars in the old snake bites and poke my Dad and say you better get on that one...... never did, as at the time it seemed like a lot of money...... like the poster does here. I actually like the poster for it's rarity and the fact that it isn't your typical subject matter. Nothing better than a giant burn out coming at you!

At the end of the day, I guess it's really only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I do know this however, they are not making any more of them. I'm not justifying the cost, but if I had only bought that 65 R-Model in 82'.......... 8)
